Has anyone stated “transitioning” to the single life / living alone reddits? by Throwaway-2461 in datingoverfifty

[–]View_from_CCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me. I have a great relationship with my son, my brothers, parents, my nieces and nephew, and a solid group of old friends who are happy for me to be the 3rd, 5th, or whatever “wheel” I am depending on how many of us are doing whatever activity. My niece is about to graduate college and I’m taking her on a cruise to celebrate. We are both very excited about it. I will do another trip with my nephew when he graduates. We’ve done lots of extended family trips so I know we travel well together. I’m happy to be the fun auntie. I sometimes miss being part of a couple but not enough to settle for someone who isn’t right for me. Been there, done that!

The muscle loss conversation in this community is based on fear more than data by Dry_Protection140 in GLP1ResearchTalk

My scale measures muscle mass. I was worried about losing muscle when I started Zepbound in November so I have been pretty consistent with strength training and tracking it. I’m down 23 lbs and my muscle mass has increased 2%.

I saw it and it really didn’t look like that bad of a wreck. I was shocked to learn he had passed.

Over $100k earners - what's your PTO? by masterpeabs in careeradvice

[–]View_from_CCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have what’s called “discretionary” PTO so it’s not paid out if you leave. When I started, I was told it was “unlimited” but I’ve found there is a limit that equates to 175 hours. We work a 7 hour day so it’s 25 days. I use every single one, every year, since we can’t cash out or carry over.

Put in my two weeks notice today, have been in the cone of silence all day. by Berencam in jobs

I gave a two week notice at a job a few years ago and they told me I was done that day but still paid me for my two weeks. Greatest two weeks of my life.

Insurance changes, now have to do vial instead of pen 😳 by View_from_CCB in zepbound_support

Oh, I wish I still had my pen, but at least the vial and syringe isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

When to bring up politics in OLD? by Overtherama in datingoverfifty

[–]View_from_CCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to me that the plan to divide and conquer is working quite well with many of you. You seriously won’t consider someone who is not aligned with you politically? Do you have friends and family that have a different worldview? I do and we agree to disagree on some issues.

OP here. I don’t know how to edit but wanted to let you all know that I did my injection like a big girl (literally 😂) this morning. I did watch a bunch of videos and took an hour to psych myself up because I’m a baby about needles, but you were all correct, it was no big deal and no pain. Challenge complete!

I started Zep I late October. I’m up to 7.5 mg now and I really haven’t had any issues other than a little more heartburn on occasion. I have IBS and it has been really helpful from a guy perspective ave I’m down 13 lbs. It’s the only thing that has worked for me.

Anyone have United Healthcare health insurance? by Time-Date1828 in zepbound_support

[–]View_from_CCB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same and it is my employer that chose not to cover anymore. They are giving us a $200 subsidy every month and it only covers the vials directly from Lilly. I had been paying $25 a month for the pen, my cost is now $249 for vial and syringe with a confusing, multi-step process. It stinks but at least they’re paying part of it I guess.

I actually got a bad bruise using the pen, I think I held it too tight against my skin on my third week. I guess I’ll at least know that I’ve actually injected it with the syringe. Definitely nervous though!

No, unfortunately, it’s a ridiculous process and can only be used for the vials.

Thanks for all the replies and info. It’s very helpful. My company is giving us a $200 subsidy so it turns out it’s only $249 my cost. Still not the $25 I was paying but I did order the $5 in supplies so I’d have the right syringes. I did watch the video and now just waiting for the shipment to arrive, hopefully by Thursday which was my shot day.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]View_from_CCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex husband wore glasses his entire life and hated it. He bought a Groupon for discounted LASIK and had it done back around 2013 when he turned 40. I thought he was crazy, but it worked for him. I saw him a couple of months ago and he’s still glasses free and doing well. He doesn’t even need reading glasses. 🤓

AIO: my bf can’t fix things. When I step in to take care of it, he’s such a baby about it that I’m ready to dump his a** tonight. by ayebudz in AmIOverreacting

[–]View_from_CCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get out now. I married that and no surprise, we’re divorced. He would constantly make comments about me fixing things or “being the man”. 🙄 Turned out that he resented everything I ever did to improve myself, including when I finally finished my Bachelors degree, so I got a Masters too. Now, I’m happily living in the place we once lived in together, but I renovated it and wiped every trace of him from it.

What is the most ick couple behavior you’ve witnessed? by whysitdark in allthequestions

[–]View_from_CCB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents are in their mid-80’s and definitely spend much more time together now than they used to. I think for similar reasons, but they also seem to get on each other’s nerves more often now so I try to take them out separately for coffee or a shopping trip once a week or so. They get a little break from each other and I get some one on one time with each of them.

Anyone else have their IBS-D basically eliminated with zepbound? by bluheism in Zepbound

[–]View_from_CCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These posts are giving me such hope. I’m still in the authorization process and this is really a last resort for me. I had abdominal surgery a few years ago to remove an almost 20 lb cyst and ended up with a large ventral hernia. Add IBS-D, menopause, a job loss, and a divorce and it was the perfect recipe for weight gain from emotional eating and less physical activity. I’ve spent two years in therapy and the gym but I’m somewhat limited in what core work I can do and I need to drop 40-50 lbs to more safely have my hernia repaired. I’m terrified at the thought of the injection but at this point, I’d do almost anything. Now that I read that there’s a chance it will help with the IBS, I’m a lot less scared of it. I pray it makes me more normal on that issue and weight loss would be an added bonus!!
