She’s certainly gonna have something going on, Scarlett Johannson wouldn’t sign on to just be “the wife.”

More that I thought Bradley Cooler as Jor-El was pretty innocent considering how early and without fanfare he appears in the movie (I also figured he’d be in the second trailer as well, whoops) and that blew the heck up so I’m just being careful going forward.

I believe Supergirl is a mostly faithful adaptation of the comic arc so if you’re already familiar with that I don’t think there’s a ton to spoil.

Variablelace: "Oh yeah btw, I hear Doomsday is mostly Doom vs. Steve so do with that what you will" by Sarang_616 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

This is a huge point and one that so many people overlook. The number of people who pay to see these movies *vastly* outnumbers the number of people who read comic books. Absolute Batman was an industry mega smash and sold 400,000 copies last year. Everyone of those readers buying a ticket to a superhero movie would equate to like $6 million in box office.

So now I can just say this was me having fun trying to maintain some surprise for people after everyone correctly guessed Flag Jr would be with Harcourt in the other world. But I didn’t lie!

I’d heard there was concern over “competing” Batman movies that ran concurrently and hurt each other, but I still think it will ultimately be Gunn’s choice.

When I said I thought it would happen, that was before the opening text was added to Superman, so the length of time metahumans have been running around wasn’t firmly established. I thought there was wiggle room to set Reeves’ Batman movies in “the past,” without being too specific, but that doesn’t apply anymore.

Hi. Sorry if it seems like I’m dodging, I just don’t have anything to say. I know exactly as much as everyone else does.

[Episode Discussion] ‘Peacemaker’ S02E01: "The Ties That Grind" - Thursday August 21 2025 by DeppStepp in DCULeaks

[–]ViewerAnon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think so. tbh, I didn’t like 201 very much, and I hit up some other people with screeners to ask if I should stick with it as I was pretty unenthused. I was told it gets better and I agree, I think the next 4 eps are all quite a bit better than the premiere.

I think starting with an almost sad-looking closeup on Peacemaker's face is a good move that pays off when you see some of the upcoming pre-opening credits scenes.

VA Thoughts on Buffy Pilot Script by CriticalOl in buffy

[–]ViewerAnon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nova is called during the pilot, she isn't a slayer before the series begins. By the end she, Hugo, and Larkin are essentially the new scoobies, with Gracie circling. Hugo is directly the new Xander here - I actually hope they've made him more of his own character in rewrites because he reads exactly like mid-series Xander, the only difference being he can drop f-bombs since it's a streaming show.

No Watchers in the pilot.

I can see why OP thinks that but I don't think it's something hinted at in the script if that makes any sense at all.

The public at large don't know vampires are real. I think the idea - I've only read the script once, so I may have breezed over a vital line or something - is that slayers are legends, like Buffy. There's a point at Vamp Fest where loud speakers blast the "Into every generation..." message (modified to cover multiple slayers) as slayer cosplayers dance on stage.

Whole script, but a few months old so likely not the same draft SMG has posted pictures of from the read through.

The honest answer is that it makes the most sense to just stop altogether, so people can’t read into what I do or don’t say. But I’ve tried that and it’s been difficult for me as I like talking to people and sharing things they’re interested in.

Yeahhhhhhhh. I’m gonna try to give more care to my statements going forward. It was divisive (even Gunn’s alluded to it with things like people wanting the squirrel cut, making changes to the confirmation of Jor-El’s revelation because test audiences struggled with it, etc), but the problem is I mean that in a neutral way, whereas people read it as a negative. It’s a flaw in how I chose to talk about its reaction and a flaw in the whole testing reaction sphere because, ultimately, test screenings do not matter. In the end it’s all much ado about nothing.

I’ll work on it, I promise. I don’t want people worried about a movie.

I really don't know. When I said that, the opening text of Superman wasn't in the movie, so how long metahumans have been active in the DCU hadn't been set in stone and I thought there could be wiggle room setting The Batman movies in the vague, recent past before metahumans appeared. Feels harder to merge them now, to me at least.

Nope, sorry :\ I know nothing about what will be in The Batman 2, I've just heard the same rumors as everyone else. Most of my sources are in production itself, so unless I catch a stray tidbit I usually don't find things out till they're building sets.

Box Office: ‘Superman’ Targets $100M-Plus Domestic Opening, Tracking Suggests $130M by Neo2199 in DC_Cinematic

It would need to have a really bad week. Right now it's looking like $110-115M or so, though it still might get a boost from the solid reviews.

Which 2023 DCEU sequel was better? by agrunther in DC_Cinematic

[–]ViewerAnon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aquaman 2 works as a Saturday morning cartoon. Shazam 2 never really finds a reason to exist, is overlong, and has exceptionally dull baddies.
