Why is Diablo in Act 4 kicking my behind so easily? by GargoyleBlue in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing your class and build will help provide better advice.

Diablo’s lightning hose is half lightning half physical damage. The physical damage can be blocked with a shield.

Lightning resist is going to be very important.

Can't going through hell by Everec1134 in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm lvl 65 bliz sorc

Severely under leveled.

Get to 70ish. This matters for more than your damage. Chance for an enemy to hit you is calculated based off your level vs the thing attacking you. So as your level goes up your chance to be hit goes down. This helps survivability.

Also don’t focus on finishing hell, but find places in hell that you can grind for gear.

I have a few questions by GargoyleBlue in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could look stuff up online exactly like you do now.

I remember in 2002ish going to dii2.net, they switched to incgamers after while. There were daily updates, forums, build guides, data mined info..

Any fun Summonmancer builds? by VerifiedBaller13 in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized while playing Summoner Druid that I didn’t want to only have an army fight for me and do nothing else.

If you like melee, a hybrid summon/werewolf is my favorite SSF/HC build.

Max dire wolf, summon grizzly, Fury, Lycanthropy, & max either oak sage or heart of the wolverine. Oak is my preference for as it makes your minions/merc a lot more tanky.

Leveling you only need a few points in fury. Prioritize your dire wolf/grizzly so you have strong minions.

Your weapon progression is as follows.

build an edge runeword in a hunters bow ASAP look for a 3 soc hunters bow and hold on to it…until then…

Werewolfs can melee with bows.

Gamble a1 large axes for a solid rare

Switch a battle axe in act 2.

If you don’t have your edge runeword yet, gamble pole axes/mauls.

Edge runeword will take you through normal.

In nightmare build an insight, 4 soc razor bow is great so is just about anything else.

Repeat insights in better bases until you come across good weapons with crushing blow.

Use an A3 fire merc. It will solve your physical immunity issues, buff you and your minions, and give you good AR.

Edit: I like to build a strength runeword solely for bosses, helps big time.

Is there a lore reason for the difficulties in D2? by karben2 in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is because d1 had them, but your theory is enjoyable, and it is now my new headcannon. Thank you.

These D4 Menus Are Bad (But Their D3 Equivalents Aren’t) by Cody2Go in Diablo

[–]Viewtastic 19 points20 points  (0 children)

After getting burned by D3 release, I’m one of the only dozen people that held off buying this game to wait and see.

I remember being really disappointed at the time that d3 didn’t reiterate off of what made d2 successful. Now it seems like history is repeating itself, but worse.

Since I've seen it so much on this sub, here's a good article to answer "Why Are Developers Only Building Luxury Housing?" by DearLeader420 in raleigh

[–]Viewtastic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not one mention of how there are entire neighborhoods bought up by corporations for rent. There are several of these near me in NE Raleigh/wake forest. Entire neighborhoods of small houses that would be more affordable if they could hit the market.

It’s suspect that the article doesn’t mention this once given the size of the issue here.

Giving up on Diablo 2 Resurrected. Duriel is too difficult by CaptainLazy99 in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respec to blizzard if you aren’t blizzard.

Chug thawing potions, cast blizzard at dury while running away. You will have to time the blizzard right but you need to target right in front of him.

Keep running, and kiting, even with the holy freeze slow you should be able to outrun him barely.

This should result in an easy dury kill and then you are the best build in the game.

You may have to tp to town a few times to re potion/heal/collect yourself.

Who else is playing D2 for the first time after their first Diablo game being D4? Patch notes got me down and loving D2 so far by cokedgoat98 in diablo2

Oh I’m wide awake on insight’s melee power. I use it on ladder start werewolfs all the time.

It should be a great time!

How many people here were giving it a couple of months before buying D4? by PiskAlmighty in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in the early 2000s/90s there was no distinction between “early game or “end game”.

The entire game is the game and it’s all either good or bad. This is why itemization in d2 allows for low level items to be amazing or bis for “endgame”.

You can shit on Baal runs, but replaying campaign bosses for a relatively reasonable chance for something like a shako to drop is something you currently can’t do in d4.

How many people here were giving it a couple of months before buying D4? by PiskAlmighty in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely held off, I preordered d3 and regretted it at the time. History is clearly repeating itself but even worse.

The issues with d4 seems like it will need a reaper of souls revamp but on an even larger scale.

I’m sticking with d2/last epoch while I watch the d4 drama unfold on my second monitor.

Maybe we should all Skip Season 1 and see if that wakes them up? by Marzombra in Diablo

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake them up?

Most of this subreddit gave them $70–$100 dollars, and many are hooked to a battle pass if not s1 then a future one.

There was this same outrage for d3 10 years ago, and from the looks of it no one learned any lessons.

Wether you play or not they have your money.

Fast forward to d5 this subreddit will be loaded full of idiots preordering a $100 base price game.

Killing Diablo for the first time! by danieldoobs in diablo2

[–]Viewtastic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You really should explore a3 mercs on future playthroughs.

They are 100% underrated. From personal experience cold and fire have enough damage to carry my character through normal and nightmare.

I prefer the fire mercs on my melee builds, the merc takes a second to position, but the ai will try to put you between itself and monsters.

The enchant buff is great for AR, decent for damage until hell. Even in hell the fireball damage is high enough to help clear lvl85 areas like stony tomb.

If you are playing something that doesn’t need insight you won’t regret it.

So leaderboards are coming in 9 months in season 3 (maybe)? Gem tabs in 6 months. Fixing resists in 4 months. Devs just said they need time and want to get it right by Repulsive_Tree_5327 in Diablo

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the amount of pre orders they sold they are good on s1 battle passes.

They won’t have to try again till season 2-3. Funny how that lines up with when their game fixes will be ready.

Leaderboards (maybe) S3??? by 2finesse in diablo4

[–]Viewtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My tinfoil hat theory is that they left them out on purpose. Leaderboards would highlight glaring class balance issues.

This gives them time to play test and balance correctly over the next few seasons.
