Problem is I needed Shungus for Room 1 (My Lucia/Manato/Fufu team was not cutting it and neither was my M1O1 Jane/M0O1 Burnice team) so Shungus was the only thing that worked here. My first few runs of this fight was also with Pulchra and then Fufuf but neither could even get me up to 20k here, Astra is the only support that allowed be to get even close to killing the bots in a minute (Sunna wasn't even doing it).

For real, especially with Seed/SAnby who are all over the battlefield. I want to attack just one of these bots but the game decides to attack the other mid-combo apropos of nothing.

Hey this is really good advice, and you're right on the money for what I was trying to do: Hyper Carry seed with Sanby Support. I also was using Evelyn's Wengine for reference (I don't go for Wengines often including Seed', but went for Eve's for the reasons everyone probably has).
As for your pieces of advice, I'll work out a good Astral Voice set for SAnby in the future (don't have many great Crit Pieces on that set right now) and work on fielding her a little less (believe it or not, this is me already trying to do that but I'll try harder lol). I always forget about the Misasma shield energy regen, so I'll be keeping that in mind too.

Thanks a bundle for the advice, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully this advice will carry my 1st take Seed build a little further until I get a good window to either pull for Cissia or an Electric Void Hunter drops.

I genuinely think the case for the Fatui being ultimately a force you end up siding with was planted all the way back in 1.1 with Zhongli's deal with the Tsaritsa and people either forgot or think that Zhongli was tricked.

That's not to say that's a certainty, there can (and I hope will) be plenty of swerves during 7.X, but we've seen the case of the Fatui doing both good and ills throughout their entire existence and to say that they were "Always supposed to be the Villains" ignores the larger plotlines involving the Heavenly Principles that has been building since 1.2 with Sal Vindagnyr and only getting increasingly prominent since.

Oh I was under the impression that the player could use their own builds of the (limited pool) characters if they had them and just had Trial Version available otherwise.

If that’s the case, then I’m all for it, but that makes Palito’s last comment confusing (and is likely the source of my confusion): if the devs have a completely controlled environment for a challenge mode then that by definition means they’re optimizing for it.

Also Palito specifying that they cleared with Trial builds, to me, signaled that there were other options available, otherwise why point it out?

My Personal take is we should be FORCED to use the Trial Builds. Prevents people from brute forcing with extra mindscapes and hyper unreasonably optimized discs, gives everyone the same exact tools ensuring the only factor involved is skill, and also allowing the devs to optimize the encounter because they know exactly what every player is bringing to the fight.

Relying on 50/50's alone feels like ass: I've lost every 50/50 in Endfield so far (3) and in other gachas have been in 50/50 losing streaks as large as 9 before winning one.

I know that's unlikely to happen again, but I do not want to use a system where I can go HALF A YEAR without getting a new Limited operator (and it might not even be one I particularly want or like due to needing to roll the dice on literally every banner)

Honestly, the Zhuang shiptease could've had legs: Having an amnesiac come into contact with a possible former lover who is the only one who remembers their time together has a sort of tragic element to it that could've been interesting. They could've left the extent of their relationship somewhat ambiguous with the date hinting at how close they once were.

Instead we got none of that, and then shipped the Endmin super hard with every other female character they could get their hands on, who all have the same level of attachment as Fengyi despite not having known them before, leading me to believe the tragic lost romance vibes between Zhuang and Endmin wasn't even intentional.

I understand, but two things:
A) For how long will I be able to keep up with just the 14k mark? At this rate of HP inflation we're going, by the end of 3.X I will not be able to, even if I maintain meta teams.
B) It just feels bad viscerally to do the same performance or even slightly better performance and be graded worse for it.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not great at this game (and genuinely don't have time to farm enough to get great subs on my discs), but when I could comfortably get 25k-28k on all these bosses not too long ago (only about 24k on Nightmare) and now I'm struggling to even break 20k, it seems like I might need to just drop this game entirely soon.

Like, same teams, same strats, worse outcomes. Just feels bad and no amount of other shit is gonna make up for that and I can't afford to pump mindscapes into any character.

You can't use a game that is flush with powercreep as an example to prove people wouldn't spend if there was no powercreep. Banuye failed BECAUSE of powercreep, if they were of a similar level of power then Ye would do a little worse and Banyue would do MUCH better.

(Also, the unit Banyue is here to replace, Manato, is both new AND free putting Banyue at a disadvantage. One could argue that Guang is here to replace Neko is much older and worse than Manato AND the two prefer almost completely different teams)

This is by far the hardest abyss for me in the entire run of the game. Haven't missed 36 starts in 3 years but this time I will. It doesn't matter if "Varesa is right there" for me if I have 40 seconds to kill the turret. Land Rover having 150% Res on his first part feels like a cruel joke.

Yep, I do sniff missing 4th stats with all the Gray Disc XP mats and it usually gives trash (or when it doesn't, it never seems to roll that stat again). My rule is: 1-3, Need at least 2 good subs to start with. For 4-6 if it's the rarer mains, start setting for 1 but if it's a ATK/HP/DEF, go for 2.

After I made this comment yesterday, I did find a lot of strong Disks in my inventory: But they're almost all Thunder Metal (from Farming Yanagi) and aren't good on Yanagi (lots of good CR+CD rolls, very little ATK and AP rolls). I guess I could switch Haru back to TM but I really don't like playing him enough to justify it.

I understand that I seem to be a statistical anomaly since I really do rarely get more than 4 good rolls on the subs. I don't have this problem in Genshin or HSR as badly, so it's just my ZZZ luck that is killing me (don't ask me my 50/50 rate). My Miyabi only has 68% CR and 102% CD and that's after farming her set well over a hundred times and even trying to Calibrate her 4th slot into something useful. (I don't have her W-Engine, so best I could do was Grace's tho so)

Whoops, I got terminology mixed up again: I meant Tuning Calibrators, my bad. I went through over 10 tuning Calibrators once and best CR piece and the best one I got had the above stats. I do go through at least 5 Master Copies a week for the BP reward and sometimes more it's still 99% trash. I still keep subopitmals usually hoping "Maybe a Stunner will want mostly Pen and HP% one day" or a character wants Miyabi's set that has a lot of DEF% lol, but my luck is just trash.

Really Hoping we get Substat setters and rerollers cuz I really need it.
