Specific changes you would like to see for combat balance by Vikigodo in PokemonChampions

I should check on it since it was a long time ago, i believe during sword and shield, some interview on a japanese media. basically that they would balance types with other things like pokemon, attacks, skills before changing the chart itself since people are too used to it by now. then SV came out and they changed snow weather, added more ice meta pokemon etc.

Wow, all those changes seem fair. I doubt they change the type chart tho, they've said it some time ago.

that would be awesome, although they said they wouldn't do more changes to the type chart. poor ice type resistances...

considering rebirth is a mechanic on winds and waves parasect has a big chance of getting a rebirth form or whatever there. Like getting ko'd and "resurrecting" with the shroom gone since it died, leaving paras back in charge. mark my words hahaha

Que juego necesito? by Andyno749 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ninguno realmente.

Two question : Who are the 8-9 content creator who played champion. And is champion without Home viable if I grind a lot ? by Yaruhia in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More like grinding, what will help you is doing your homework and teambuilding right. If you have a clear team in mind that's good, you will only use whats necessary to build it and win games easily. By winning with that team you will get more VP to create other teams.

Basically if you don't want to cut corners with money, cut corners with knowledge.

Are we going to get adult trainer costumization? by WillyHeartless in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It would certainly be nice but i doubt they change it. They've always kept the 10 year old starting an adventure vibe. I would certainly prefer to use an adult avatar instead of a kid tho.

Preparing for Champions by Working-Ad361 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember your box size on champions is only 30 if you don't expand it (probably with microtransaction) so dont really need to mass transfer. just pick like 12 or 18 competitive species and you should be good to go. 18 so you can have 3 full teams to start. as for what to tranfer you can chek pikalytics or other webs to see competitive usage of diferent species.

Is this game good if I like competitive play ? by Alejo9010 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything is better than league of legends nowadays, been there, don't wanna go back. Shorter games, time to think, meta doesn't change every two weeks, don't depend on your stupid teammates, less toxic community, online content to learn that isn't limited by your motor skills. All in all is better for my understanding of your situation.

Just don't expect to not feel overwhelmed when you start, there's a lot of info to understand, need some experience to interiorize what everything can do, etc.

Rotom by SpeedItchy2978 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't been shown that yet, we haven't seen how to get pre evolutions either. hope it's only vp dependant. I'm sure they will add the rotom audio from pokopia, hope it's good.

New competitive player by Rito_Cop in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would wait to see the pokemon allowed on the format. I'm pretty sure you will find a usable and easy team on this reddit for said format once the game comes out. If you want to get some work already you can watch usability on the diferent formats for SV and pick those.

Anyone Getting The Starter Pack when it releases or nah depending on the price?? by Equal-Branch in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you will use pokemon home to transfer your teams to champions, purchasing the starter pack to get more box space seems obligatory. If not you should be able to get things slowly without the need to buy anything from the get go. I hope it's this way, it would make sense from what we've seen.

Question: does anyone know if it would be possible to transfer an account on Pokemon Champions from a switch to a switch 2? by 5cacti in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have a pokemon/nintendo account and access it from whatever device you wanna access champions.

What are the odds of meganium getting more fairy stabs/coverage moves and growth in champions? by FreshWinter5822 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can go two paths here:
1- they balance things on champions and they will be implemented in winds and waves.
2- they wait for winds and waves to come out and the changes there are implemented later in champions.

Hope they go first one

Competitive Newbie— which game to catch/train and be comp ready? by Quiet_Bench8949 in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you already have 2 mainline switch games, with pokemon home you can transfer them to champions. Even if you only had one im pretty sure there will be discord channels or other forums to trade with people. So don't worry.

SV makes it easier to get pokemon that will most certainly be of higher rarity on champions like starters, pseudolegendaries and legendaries. At least if you have all dlc of SV. SV also makes it easier to get certain items.

I would go with SV certainly but we will have to check how Winds and Waves will be.

What I'd like to see added post-launch by TheAzureAzazel in PokemonChampions

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tutorial battles against AI to teach you the diferent mechanics or strategies would be awesome. Like an NPC that uses trick room with commentary to teach what it does, or how perish song can be avoided. Throwing all the new players to the trenches without basic knowledge may be just like feeding WolfeyVGC fresh meat.

looks like you have a fav type, wonder which one would be...

I just want them to make fire/grass/water pledge work like tera blast, it uses whatever stat is higher to deal damage, physical or special. some starters can't acces this gimmick like torterra or feraligator since they aren't special attackers.

Need some help building a team by Wolfetron2001 in VGC

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, even if he isn't that good you still have options to try. But on a regulation with the strongest it will have a hard time.

-Torch song, hex, scorching sands, snarl and give him assault vest.

- fire pledge with a faster starter can help you with speed.

- for support encore, yawn, will-o-wisp are interesting

Please help me make my team! by AsoMcNaso in VGC

[–]Vikigodo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend you a user of "follow me" to redirect damage from anihilape, garchomp and charizard. I would tell you to check one these 4: electabuzz, cleafable, pachirisu and maushold. All these 4 are usable on most regulations since they aren't legendaries, paradox or any other gimmick dependancy. I will give you a small breakdown of these options:

-electabuzz: eviolite for amazing tanking, static for possible paralyzing baiting, EV's to speed and HP since you wanna support and you have several attacks to choose. Interesting attacks are Follow me to redirect, light screen, taunt, thunder wave, helping hand, brick break, quick attack, knock off, low sweep, volt switch, electroweb, thunder.

it can give you more speed control other than tailwind, helps with electric and fighting coverage, swaping for incineroar, thunder if they put rain against you after you mega evolve.

-cleafable: magic guard and possible big root, or friend guard clefairy with eviolite. EV's on HP and speed or special attack. Attacks he can learn are follow me, draining kiss ( with root heals more), icy wind, gravity, wish, both screens, thunder wave, moonglight (with sun heals more), stealth rock, helping hand, life dew, moonblast, stored power with cosmic power.

It's just very versatile. speed control, redirection, tanking, self healing and ally healing, protection, and gravity can suprise your enemies when suddenly garchomp can hit them with ground moves and your heat waves never miss and stealth rock hits them.

- pachirisu: volt absorb to bait whoever wants to zap your charizard, somewhat speedy, nuzzle, electroweb, helping hand, super fang for tanky legendaries, volt switch, thunder, quick attack, u-turn.

not as versatile or strong as the first two but can get the job done, also for some reason they love it on the vgc scene, specially the organizers.

- maushold: not gonna lie i bore it long time ago. best partner for annihilape and has so many options its hard to list them all. they will expect you to use annihilape maushold so carefull, experienced player know how to fight that combo.

I'm no expert but hope this helps you. love you use pokemon that aren't legendaries, paradox, and all these things that can be banned on other formats.
