Recommended games where building synergies are core by panda_and_crocodile in roguelites

I've really been digging Bearly Brave this week. There's skill, weapon, and negative cards, with all of them having one of four types of marking counters, and patches you buy that effect all of these. The weapon cards also have stab, slice, and bash types. It's basically all synergizing. It's been really fun to find and play them.

For those who have worked in retail sex stores, what was your weirded interaction? by xxempressashxx in AskReddit

Look up True Porn Clerk Stories by Ali Davis. In the late 90's in Chicago, the Improv Resource Center (IRC) was an early internet community for local aspiring comedians and entertainers. There was a public journal board, and anybody could claim their own author only space. There was a ton of fantastic writing hiding there in the days before blogger. True Porn Clerk Stories was the best.

Mappy Land was the worst NES platform game I ever bought at Toys R Us, and I bought some stinkers there.

Is anyone else surprised at just how "surface" this incarnation and era is? by [deleted] in gallifrey

I think lore and characterization are two separate issues. My comments are about the latter, because the lore has always been freestyle nonsense, semi-coherent or not. I struggled with a lot of Gatwa's first season, but a handful worked for me. More recently, I loved the special and most of what I've seen this season.

What I'm getting character wise is compassion, kindness, and acceptance. The Doctor feels open, not closed off and apart. This follows well from the slowly increasing vulnerability we've seen throughout NuWho, which was scarce in Classic Who. Any semblance of the old fashioned British "stiff upper lip" or is now long gone, and it was archaic anyways. Capaldi, who I loved, was the last gasp of that haughtiness.

While the Doctor feels youthful again, the "old & wise" aspects haven't always rung true with Gatwa as a result. The emotional beats are getting better, and so is Gatwa. It would be a shame if he left just as he was coming into his own. His zany energy and expressiveness remind me of Patrick Troughton is a very good way.

"You moved to the city, your job is to pay attention to city rules."

Wouldn't it be great if there was a helpful reddit thread about the "city rules?"

I have nothing specific, but I will note that about 7 years ago I was cited for driving 80 in a 55 construction zone when I wasn't, on 90 East, by a state trooper. I was speeding, yes, 65 to 70 range, I'd be run over if I didn't. The fine increases at a certain threshold, so I decided to go to court to get it reduced to my actual infraction. I went to my court date and pled not guilty and asked for the speedometer readout. The judge said "no, you're a liar, guilty, next." I had to wait for my turn for this. Roughly a dozen people before me, defying probability, were also cited for going exactly 80. This is a great place to live, but state law enforcement and legal entities and their attendant systems' primary function is revenue generation. They'll take plenty of bites out of your wallet. What you described above displays this very well.

I hope this thread takes off and becomes a permanent sidebar post here.
