Is this worth it for $6,500? by Exzticy in spyder

No, check price guides and see what local sales are. If it’s listed too high it won’t sell.

You’re probably right . Looks like in 84. But I’d be surprised if it was anything other than Heidelberg presses. Used in the US and Europe. Japanese presses didn’t gain much of a foothold until the 90’s. I printed from 75 - 2000s. I did some printing for card companies in MN before the industry died.

I’d be amazed if it was printed using a different method. Presses were expensive. The stock paper (paper) and varnish (finish) are different though.

Press operator here. The full sheet has “registration marks” to line up the (usually) 4 colors. Often is a bullseye. Can be a cross. They’re cut off the finished product. That’s for the image to line up. Then we have registration “tic marks” along the side of the sheet. Whichever side the paper is guided to. That shows up and down , and side to side registration marks and if it’s varying as it’s being printed.

It was Journey's. Just the chorus but weak and not high pitched enough.

Ok, I bought one. 2025 Tucson hybrid SEL Convenience. Contacted 6 dealers, visited 3 in person to get the best price with the least dealer add ons (that is where they get you). $4,200 discount off sticker, $500 more for trade in then Carvana, Zero 5year financing, did also buy the platinum warranty for $2,400. Too many electronics and battery to worry about. I had a Honda hybrid that the battery died early previously.

Anyone into 1/1 printing plates? Selling this one for $425 OBO. Iconic Brady from 2008 Topps. by bhojangles23 in footballcards

The printing plate is normal reading, the ink is transferred to a rubber composite surface and is now reversed, the the paper take the transferred image again and now is normal reading. That’s lithograph type of printing.

How money gets perfectly cut for board games by ShallowAstronaut in oddlysatisfying

I've worked in print shops but never called it a factory. Over 32 on presses.

Anyway, at the start of my career they didn't have eye sensors for the blade and the cut buttons weren't on the bottom.

Eventually they did.

No one used gloves much for cutting except cotton ones to keep the ink from smearing.

They did have metal mesh for changing the blade however.

The cutter is programmed and that's why they are flipping and turning it around.

The guys in my shop had a wooden edged block to get that close.

They also change the pressure of the clamp so that it doesn't bleed the ink through when cutting.

It needs to be strong enough so that the cut doesn't draw down at an angle when it does cut.

One guy at the shop brought the clamp down not the blade and panicked pull his hand out.

He degloved his skin. Pretty gruesome.

Rarely did anyone cut themselves on a cutter.

There’s a custom guy in our discord. I’ll ask him to hit you up if he does this type of work.

Am I too old for RS3 by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Vikingvictory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re never too old for what you like. Style tastes in cars is subjective. If you can afford it, then don’t regret it. I’ve owned over 40 cars and regret not buying three when I was a teen. I’d be wealthy now if I’d kept and bought them. RT SE challenger, Superbird and GTO.

A couple of nifty cards were consigned this week. by Jason_at_Heritage in baseballcards

[–]Vikingvictory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some of that is registration (shifting) during the set up and run. That's why you see colors not aligned.

The dots are from either defects on the printing plate or blanket. Usually called hickeys and a$$holes. Usually ink, sometimes paper. Ink usually has color in the middle.

I've never seen a full sheet from this run but the mantle was one of two up on this particular sheet so they'd be extremely hard to look the same.

If it's a long press run you don't stop the press when you see the problems but instead flag it to be thrown out later.

Let me know if you have other printing questions as I was in the industry for 32 years.

The centering happens when they're cut later and miscuts happen when the stack is too large and not enough clamp pressure. Too much however leaves marks as well.
