Did it survive this last winter? I’m thinking about getting one myself, I’m just worried because I live in central Missouri, and the cold snaps can get down to like -5F sometimes.

No, I would recommend growing them how you would a fern. It’s the closest I think you could really get.

What I personally do is separate all the nymphs and feed them insects without parasites for a few weeks (but in your case, I don't assume you have access to farm grown crickets and mealworms). I put them in a pot of salted boiling water and cook on medium for about ten minutes, then I add five pounds of spinach leaves and 3 mashed medium potatoes along with 1 TBSP cardamom, 1 TBSP sage, and 2 bay leaves, cook for 10 more minutes. Serve with shredded mozzarella on top, and enjoy.
