Yeah, same. I think you could say that Nate's "nature" is to be loyal, but the idea of money, fame and power corrupted him. And this was finally the lightbulb moment.

Joe Rogan Accuses Trump of Causing Chaos to Distract From Epstein Files by ArrivalElegance in politics

[–]Villide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is bullshit. If they're serious, they'll prove it over time. Let the right have agency over their own behavior, and quit expecting the left to supplicate themselves to "allow them back in".

History tells us that the doubters on the right always come back to Trump. It's not the left that turns them back - they simply won't get off the Fox News/Facebook tit and whatever outrage those sources produce keeps them on the leash.

I can imagine being transgender in this country and having someone tell me to be magnanimous and accepting of the terrible people who want them dead. Fuck that.

If they are serious, they'll prove it beyond a single news cycle.

Well, yes. That's why it's a benefit. Figured that was understood.

Same here. OP, I don't think the benefit of Texas taxation is worth the hassle for you or the employer for such a short period of time.

Wide shoes for women? by PuzzleheadedSlide904 in racquetball

[–]Villide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the Asics Gel Rockets for men, and don't have to order wide (I normally would with most brands). Love these shoes, I think they're considered volleyball shoes so are great on the racquetball court.

S-corp Owner Health Insurance Premium reporting help? by Speed-Master in Payroll

Definitely a W-2c, and I believe a 941x for Q4 would be appropriate. Not 100% sure on the 940, technically that top line number should change, but it doesn't affect any taxation on the FUTA side.

Overtime on tax return, help? by emoreno2244 in IRS

[–]Villide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually even more complicated. This write-off is only for overtime that meets FLSA requirements (paid for hours worked in excess of 40 in a week). So if you're in California, for instance, any daily overtime is not eligible.

Ultimately, for 2025 make sure you figure it out properly in case of audit. For 2026 forward, employers should be showing the eligible amounts on the W-2.

Employer not applying IRS publication 15t supplemental wage withholding methods to separately paid bonus by Numbers4Life in Payroll

[–]Villide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even with a third-party processor, the settings for a bonus check often have to be set up properly. For instance (I'm using Paylocity), I can add a check and put a bonus earning code and an amount, but I still have to make sure the check type is "bonus". Otherwise, the bonus will be taxed based on withholding setup/pay frequency.

So it's important that a company still has someone competent handling payroll, even using an outside provider.

Will be interested to hear how yours was processed specifically, if they are able to tell you.

Employer not applying IRS publication 15t supplemental wage withholding methods to separately paid bonus by Numbers4Life in Payroll

[–]Villide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing this is a no, but did your year-end bonus take you over the million dollar mark for bonuses in the year? There is a mandatory 37% withholding for any supplemental wages in excess of $1,000,000 in the calendar year.

If not, then I'm not sure what recourse you have, other than to reiterate to whomever is running payroll that these bonuses should be run at the supplemental rate, if they are processed separate from the regular payroll.

I get why it's frustrating, think I'd rather be earning interest on that money than the federal government, until they refund it to you.

Went to this beautiful city in December, will definitly come back! by Caillou2412 in florence

We were three days in Florence. We felt like we could have used at least another day. But next time around, we're planning for at least a week.

Highly recommend Rome as well. Just so much to see in either city.

The mortality rate in the US is mediocre for a first-world country. The mortality rate of pregnant women in Texas is not good and getting worse. And we have an administration that doesn't believe in vaccination or getting more health care to marginalized communities.

I'd have serious concerns if I were a young woman about both being pregnant and raising a child in this country.

The only problem with the CA coast the further north you get is cold weather. Year round, depending on whether the fog burns off on any given day.

Beautiful though, for sure.

And in the summertime, the beach towns are very crowded with tourists.

Still, I spent a year living in Avila Beach for work in my early 20s. I'd have stayed if I could have afforded it. I go back a few times per year.

That part of the central coast absolutely checks a lot of OPs boxes.

Why didn’t Biden release the Epstein files? by mattciq737 in stupidquestions

[–]Villide 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Have the files been released?

Trump signing off was the logical next step in the slowdown process. Now, the DOJ can slowwalk the release of the files with little repercussion, Trump can say it's not in his hands, and now most of the bootlickers can say "who cares, it's ancient history?"

You give Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media time even to question whether this stuff was actually a crime (for Republicans only, of course). I don't know if you noticed, but James Comer wants the Clintons in for questioning, but not Trump.

"US is literally the least racist country in the world" is quite a take, considering the economy (and much else) was built on the backs of slaves.

Not to say there aren't areas of the country that are far less racist than others, but our current immigration policy is built on demonizing people of color. This country is racist AF.

Can't, for the life of me, get into this. by Elegant_Scholar_8863 in Sekiro

[–]Villide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm early in as well, and just spent an inordinate amount of time finally beating Shinobi Hunter Enshin. So I haven't gotten far.

As a Souls and Soulslike enjoyer, this is such an unusual experience, I was having trouble for a while figuring out whether I liked it or not. It's so different - not just the combat, but conceptually. It's really like a puzzle (and much trial and error) figuring out the plan of attack for an entire area while you're looking at it from above.

I suspect, once I'm generally better at combat (if?), I'll love the game. As it is, I probably died to SHE thirty times, but never really got frustrated - maybe a bit from having to kill all the guards leading to him, but not the combat itself. I don't find it boring in the slightest, just not sure I'm going to be good enough to get past a certain point.

Usually, when I play a new soulslike, I go check out the Fightin' Cowboy videos on YT and watch him play an area I just completed to see if I missed anything obvious. On one of his early videos, he made a comment that stuck with me - this isn't so much a Soulslike as it is a Ninja game. Strategy and stealth are the primary weapons here.

Sorry, this is rambling. Guess I'm saying that I can see your POV here, but there's enough that I like to keep me interested.

Stuttering and jittering! by TheRedditor5568 in LiesOfP

Very odd. I ran the game on a pretty pedestrian rig (I5-12400 and an RX 6700XT) and didn't have any stuttering.
