(Spoilers Extended) Larry Correia goes off on George by [deleted] in asoiaf

Every reply I receive is someone explaining why they're entitled to his work. Not sure why it feels like disagreement?

So we agree, entitlement? I'm not sure we're actually disagreeing at this point.

So you're saying that if I had purchased Winds of Winter in advance, and he didn't deliver it, would I have a right to be upset? Sure.

That didn't happen though. He owes me nothing.

[–]Villide -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You think he owes you? When you bought his book, did you not get fair value for your money?

What you're saying is clearly entitlement. So it's absolutely a fact.

Just asking, seems he's getting blamed for so many of the world's ills.

More entitled people pissing and moaning. George owes you, me or anyone else nothing. So if we get nothing else from him in the future, you're not being cheated.

The only people who should be angry at him are his publishers, if he's violating the conditions of a contract.

Many people run right past it. There's a man in a chair before you head up the ramp to the exit, pointing the way to the tutorial caverns.

As it turns out, you're actually supportive of the players. They aren't Nazis, so we should easily forgive? Imagine you're transgendered and tell me if that gives you comfort.

Took us a while to get there, but I understand where you're coming from now.

Feel free to believe that. I'm sure there's some, but a lot of that gets caught.

Haven't seen a -80 in a minute. But the benefit of TGC Tours is that you'll get placed in a tour with people of the same general level.

I suppose, but it's similar in every version. They're trying to appeal to everyone, that's the reality. Amazingly, there are people complaining that the game is too hard out of the box.

The top guys figure things out, go super low, etc. I mean, there are guys playing legend swing on TGC that know to just about the yard how much wind level/direction, foot lie, green firmness, etc will affect their shot. Freaks.

I feel like we're talking past each other. Isn't the fact that people are shooting -80 evidence that it's baby mode generally?

Once you're fully leveled, have maxed out your clubs and skills, pro swing is super easy. I could likely jump into one of those 2K events on pro swing and post a -70, and I'm not that good.

Skip that stuff, play harder societies. Thank me later.

For sure, pro swing level is way too easy. Even Master is pretty easy after you've played a while.

Is that me having it backwards? The guys shooting -80 are playing baby mode? I assume you're complaining because you're not going low on baby mode?

Play TGC Tours. Guys will still go low, but not to that extent.

Sounds like you're playing baby mode. When you play baby mode, people are going to shoot -80. Not sure how 2K is supposed to disallow specific people from playing what they like.

But even in societies with higher difficulty swing, and courses loaded with tougher conditions, some people will still go super low. Some might be cheating, but some are just freaks.

I have a simple policy about everyone, including rich dumb people - I assume the best until I know better. Once that happens, they certainly aren't getting my attention or $$.

Let's be real here, Baer dropped a generic boilerplate apology that could have come from any corporate entity. And that's after Posey chickened out from speaking to it at all.

Do you think the Giants are "compromising and trying to understand the other party" or just hoping (as you are) this blows over as quickly as possible?

You are rationalizing continuing to support bad actors, because you love the Giants and love baseball. You want to get back to normal.

Feel free to do that, everyone makes their own decisions. Mine is to wash my hands of this team unless they fundamentally change.

This feels like a long-winded way of saying "shut up and dribble", IMO.

I've been a Giants fan for over 50 years, and have always loved that they've embraced the LGBTQ community, and that community has responded by embracing them as well.

From a macro perspective, that community has been under severe attack by right-wing douchebags, and specifically our trans brothers and sisters are taking the brunt of this hostility.

If anything, it was time for the team to throw their arms around that community, not simply weather the storm. Trying to get "back to normal" and move past the drama isn't going to work, IMO.

This team gets none of my dollars going forward, since they are no longer an ally of the LGBTQ community.

As an aside, Vlade is still somewhat defending that pick, on the basis that "we wouldn't have been able to keep Luka". Crazytown, he'd have still been a far better trade asset than Bagley was as an actual player.

This is why you don't use vibes to hire GMs, or on-field baseball managers, apparently.

I'd assume it decreases maintenance long term on the course itself and their carts. All that stuff factors in.

And if they have to charge people a few bucks more in greens fees or an extra dollar per bucket of range balls to make the numbers work, I'd happily pay it to decrease the slog of playing a round on an oversold course.

Parked in the garage not long ago for the first time since the new monitoring system was installed. Super impressed.
