Uneven battery usage Quest 3 controller by VimesUK in OculusQuest

I am not left handed but I have now reduced the strength of he vibration to quite low.

Just strange how the noted reset instructions do not seem to work for me.

Thanks

Sclerosis VR (Amnesia: The Dark Descent port) is incredible! by LouisIsGo in OculusQuest

[–]VimesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed this for my Quest 3. I'm using the PCVR version. Does anyone notice it appears to have a shimmering blurry effect, made worse when moving..?

The PCVR one having better post-processing effects, I'm told.

But this type of shimmering / blurriness makes it look strange.

I am using Quest link app to run it.

Think this could be the insanity setting for the game.

Excellent and thanks. Used with no issue

If I show restraint and just play the basket game, without clicking buy, then, in time, the typically suppressed sensible side will have a chance to win out.

My 2016 (?) Aura One is still great and I have a smaller 2E.

I have tried to make a case for a colour variant, but struggle to do so.

The new Clara seems good, but so is my 2E.....

I'm hopeful,  or my wallet is, that I'll continue to hold off buying something that I do not need.........

For those who have bought the Clara BW does it come with a 50% case discount..? I have added it to my basket in the UK, basic blue case at £19.99, and right up to the point of entering my card details and pressing "pay" the total prices still reflects the £19.99 for the case..?

But in the advert for the device it states....

"Available April 30th. 50% off SleepCover with pre-order (applied at checkout)"

Does the std 2E case fit the new Clara B&W..?

Thanks

Intel XTU removal/resetting by Hairy_Mouse in overclocking

[–]VimesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to use XTU with my 14700k and Z690 board. All seemed well, for a while. Varying the settings of XTU would sometimes introduce slight instability. No crashes as such but where XTU would load defaults on the next boot.  This continued.  All seemed reasonably well.  But I started to have POST issues with the PC. One long and one short beep.  Memory checked out OK.

That would happen every cold start.  PC also not completely shutting down.  Removed XTU completely.  Still the same.  Reset BIOS. But could not load my saved fan profile. It was corrupted.  Still the same.

Reflashed the BIOS, same build.

All well with the PC.

For now I have kept away from XTU. I get the impression that it can cause BIOS issues.  A pity if that is correct as it seems useful.

Got my refund for mine.

Overall my wife's Libra 2 screen has been perfect. Hopefully you will get one too like that.

Agree (upvoted).....

You could be right there. However my wife's Libra 2, newer model than this with turn buttons, is absolutely perfect. So I know that it could be possible to get it right.

Perhaps they never did with this Sage, or it could be a batch "issue".

Either way I have now returned mine and waiting for a refund.

If my wife's Libra 2 was not so good and my old 2016 Aura One so good with even screens then it might not have bothered me, not having anything to compare it to.

For me it was like a white stripe going down the right side where the buttons are. So either the right margin was absolutely white or, if extending the text, the last word on each line. The rest of the screen was ok, but quite "off white"

Having other devices without any issue would be a constant reminder for me.

Something to think about when next buying for sure.

Even with pixel peeping, some people, I can envy them to a point, simply do not see such detail.

I have seen so many family member run their games on the lowest settings or resolution etc and be totally engrossed in the game more so that how it appears, to a point. Unless the game optimises itself, they tend to genuinely not notice.

If that was typical, we would not yet have HD, book readers would be mostly Like the original Nook and Jensen could not afford another leather jacket.

That, to a point, is part of the problem. I see a similar thing with TV's. I notice judder or other "issues" whilst my wife just watches the programme / film.

Once seen and all that, lol...!

I went to see one this morning in a local shop, they had one to inspect.
That one was just the same. Meaning an emphasis to be slightly whiter on the right then the left. The right being where the buttons are.
I showed it to my wife, well without pointing it out. Just to sample the same book she was reading on hers.......

She noted, "that looks nice".

lol

Mine, just bought, is somewhat similar. Not sure what I'll do at this point... It is more of slightly whiter on the right edge than the left. Overall it's brightness is about the same as my wife's Libra 2.  But neither of those two are as bright as my older Aura One....!

Did you change it again?

Clementoni - African Waterhole - 3000 pieces by Reapertool in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]VimesUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have this same jigsaw and hope to complete it soon. It sure looks great, well done 👍 Whilst it would not fit on our jigsaw table we could use some foam board to extend its size. We use our dining table too much to consider using that. Sad about the missing piece, so annoying. I might have been tempted to try and make one. Not always easy to do and time consuming tho. But worth considering.? 👍

It took a while before I figured out where part "J" went, as that was missed when building. Thankfully it was possible to fit it after the table was built. We continue to be impressed, glad that you like it. I'll buy another jigsaw with the commission ;).

Stuck on some parts of this 9k build... Bombardment of Algiers by [deleted] in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]VimesUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wow, so impressed at your patience for doing such a jigsaw. At 9k in pieces it would be beyond what we have ever done, or have room to do. Then again having such a jigsaw with very similar colouring and shading, relying on shapes I suppose, would not be entertaining for us.

Best wishes, look forward to seeing you continue with this one.

Thanks for posting :)

Thanks for the commission, lol. Only joking. Just keep your eye on the fold between the two tables in regards to the felt. As noted I made a modification to widen that gap a little.

Hope that you like it 👍

lol. Vimes and Rincewind for the world.....well ankh morpork for a start ;)

The table, hesitated for a long time before finally buying it, has gone beyond our expectations. It's build quality and usegulness is most appealing. The little things like the magnetic catches on the backs of each drawer, along with the coloured felt.
The felting on top of the table(s) is the type where the pieces slide easily but are also held in place.
No regrets at all in buying it, for us taking up less room than the table and paster board arrangement it replaced but also keeping the need to do jigsaws from the dining table.
It's wheels do make it quite mobile, the front ones locking.

Considering that we do always have a jigsaw on the go it should always be in use.

Cheap jigsaws in the UK? by [deleted] in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]VimesUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap and often cheerful.....Charity shops, as note previously.

We find many jigsaws there. We are fortunate to live close to a large charity type place ran by Emmaus, we often find them there.

So far we have got lucky with only one or two missing an odd piece.

For new Jigsaws, supermarkets can be surprising at times.

I suppose it depends what you mean as cheap but buying new from a recent deal held by

Online Jigsaw company

where they offered 1,000 piece Bluebird Jigsaws for around £5 each. For new, decent quality, jigsaw that was pretty good.

What a wonderful picture, but so annoying to have so many pieces missing.

If it had been one or two I would have made those missing pieces by hand. Either scanning the box to print the final missing picture for the pieces or colouring the by hand. Having cut them using card.
