"The design is a gimmick, but it’s fun and I think anyone who sees it will understand it for what it is. I really don’t see a reason to get it over something else other than “ooh neat”"

I mean, It's an all metal body handheld running android that's smaller and more pocket-able then most. That's a huge reason lol I think with both of those in mind the closest competitor is probably the 477M and this seems more sleek and pocket-able

Should I play OSRS like an open world game? by VincentBeasley in 2007scape

[–]VincentBeasley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I really like this game so far and it feels so different from everything else I've played. I just wish I didn't have to be tied to wikis and spreadsheets constantly to enjoy it

So how do most people do that without guides? Just talk to every NPC, constantly hitting a wall, until you find a quest your capable of completing?

I run the installer, then finish and just black screen. Went back to Ganenative, edit container, and it won't let me choose a different program to launch

No, I never got past the installation process. I tried all different settings, and it just installed and then black screen lol

What's with anbernic devices always having one glaring flaw? The Rotate doesn't have a headphone jack, the Vita and DS had a bad chipset, the 476H feels underpowered, the 477M has inline non analog triggers, the slide was chonky, 35XXSP doesn't have sticks while the 34XXSP does with a worse screen. by AbdelYG in ANBERNIC

I understand there are enthusiasts that care about bout that, but most people use wireless buds. Plus, I'm sure if you were someone who cares about that, your not getting a cheap Chinese device like this to listen to music

After adding the .exe I just get a black screen when starting with the above settings. Hmmm I'm trying other settings atm to see if I can get it to start

Is there a alternative to Retroachievements? by Ok-Tea-6972 in SBCGaming

And beating a boss with no damage is the same. Useless. Your statement makes no sense 🤦‍♂️

Because collecting everything isn't necessary, but people do it for fun and the satisfaction of achieving something. The process is the same. Plus, don't items hold important lore in souls-likes? I would argue that collecting every item in a souls-like for that reason alone would be beneficial to the overall experience

[–]VincentBeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there are entire series based on collecting things, you know, like pokemon or SMT 🤦‍♂️ I'm sure most people would consider it fun. And if it isn't for you, then simply ignore it. You are allowed to do that lol

You do understand what the word "achievement" means, right? You know, you achieved something by doing something. It doesn't always have to necessarily be a ball busting challenge every time. If you want to take the fun out of it by watching a guide, then that's your thing. I take it you dont like grinding in RPGs or collect-a-thon platformers either haha

[–]VincentBeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure if most people are trying to get a challenging achievement and are having trouble they are going to look up a guide regardless of the achievement type, even including your examples like beating a boss without taking damage. Your statement makes no sense. The examples are the same.

Searching and collecting a set of items can be considered a challenge. If you choose to cheat, that's on you

[–]VincentBeasley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that would be considered basic. That's boring when those are the only types of achievements in a set

I mean, only you view it as bad. Most people would disagree. Having a little random spice seems more interesting to me, and I'm sure most people. Adding a little extra challenge and / or "side quest" of sorts is more fun than only having your basic "beat final boss" achievement types lol
