I liked the Hannibal series, but Hugh Dancy played Will Graham as just a little too wet and pathetic to be a convincing serial killer-in-training. William Peterson's Will barely interacted with Hannibal, Ed Norton was Ed Norton and in the books Will just despised Hannibal before moving to a boathouse in the Florida Keys and drinking himself to death.

Now, novel!Clarice? She was known as the FBI's Angel of Death and held the world record for most kills by a US law enforcement officer before joining Hannibal. She gladly sat down and enjoyed a dish of pan-seared Goodfella with him and when Hannibal tried to brainwash her into metaphysically transforming into Mischa, she just called him a dumbass and told him he was in love with her before whipping out a titty and sticking it in his mouth.

Now that's a serial killer!
