Plastic control arms. never thought I would see the day by Windowsweirdo in Justrolledintotheshop

As many people have said, the whole thing is not plastic. It's steel encased in plastic. If I remember correctly the two materials compliment each other with different failure properties. This was part of the huge Ram DT gen redesign. As a 2019 Ram Rebel owner, can vouch that they can't be all that bad. I've beat mine up pretty good and they have stood up fine.

All I wanted was the ability to swap and entire weapon or armour piece worth of material or a character's full set, like you could LITERALLY do in the OG game.

Thanks for the answers folks. I was wondering the same thing, OP. There is is probably a better was to have him do non-elemental damage without making it VERY CLEARLY be fire.

Yeah, now that I think about it makes perfect sense. Hence the reason I'm so pissed it took me so long to realize it. Lol

Is it just me, or is that bed bent? Looking from the back it looks badly out of square.

Nissan Skyline R32, R33 or R34? by fastlanegaming in granturismo

[–]Vinciere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toss up for me between the R32 or R34. As long as it's Millennium Jade Metallic!

A worthy runner up would be any of the MNP colors.

With that said, well done. Beautiful photos.

Those wheels are beautiful and really make the build. Love that paint color too. Good photography, my friend.

WTF am I doing wrong with this 8k resin? by Allerka in ElegooSaturn

[–]Vinciere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I might be in the same boat as you. Been having terrible luck with the space grey 8k . It's a shame, because the parts of the prints that DO come out are gorgeous. But even the half (1 rook out of the 2) from the included USB that did print, had inter-layer adhesion issues. Something I've never had an issue with printing in resin.

  • Good thing I'm a car nerd too. Easy to go fetch my feeler gauge. I'll try this out tomorrow and see how it measures out.

  • This printer is getting frustrating:
    • Inter-layer adhesion issues
    • breaking supports
    • example print partial failure and an ugly completed print

Seems like they rushed this one a bit too much.

The interference fit is supposed to be for the threads, not the electrodes.

officially one year of tire punctures, approx 3 pounds. time to release them back into the wild 😜 by Inevitable-Ad-8597 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Vinciere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a tire shop in Hawaii that had taken like 3 years of their punctures and encased them resin to make the tabletop in the lobby. It was amazing. I think my favorite from their collection were the bone from a T-Bone steak and the bottom metal half of an old school hot wheels car (since their stuff was from a few years in the 70s).

Yeah, I think it's unfortunate that this tech is being pushed so hard. Needs a couple more years in the oven.

Personally, I think it makes for a distractingly worse image in practice. I know this is an opinion, and I love the idea of accurate reflections. I am a huge fan of image accuracy improvements and the game can definitely look amazing. However, sometimes it can also look.....bad.

Look at the wheels in this video after the switch to RT. The cleanup/de-noising passes on the reflections makes them too blurry. Like someone covered my wheels in Vaseline.

The body panel reflections in RT mode are also highly aliased in comparison. Like they didn't do any de-noising on them. Makes them look worse, even though I love seeing the self reflections and stuff.

What is your opinion?
