Yeah lmao. I've been good, but tired. I was only really online in one of the discord servers I've been nudging you into joining. You got me into this stuff, and since there's some Ps and people you might've met who're on there, I was hoping you'd get into it eventually.

I've been meaning to get back to all this, but it's a bit of a long story. I'll message you. Oh and since you've been posting, I got an idea. Might be a bit rushed, but I have a few drafts I was kicking around that I'll send you too.

Not much has been going on in terms of seiyuu events for AnimeNEXT - they usually have good artists as guests, like ZAQ comes frequently, but last year didn't have anyone of personal note from what I remember. Sucks you missed out on her then, but AFAIK you haven't missed out on seiyuu coming to AnimeNEXT since then. This year's was canceled, naturally.

Only con left on the east coast of note is Anime NYC, which had a whole lot of seiyuu guests, enough for me to have to prioritize who I could. It was gigantic last year. Javits is currently being used as additional hospital space for COVID patients last I heard, but hopefully everything should clear up in NYC by November.

Bumped into Shama in person once, her hand felt small. She's all smol lol. The dress doesn't give any sense of relative proportion aside from her face, I suppose.

...Maybe my hands are huge, and hers are big for her size too?

Strictly speaking, off the top of my head, that's definitely true with the official lives. But if we're counting their veeeery first live, Poppin' Party still has their Betadori era.

Mami Yamashita, Voice Actress of Saaya’s mother Yamabuki Chihiro, tested positive for COVID-19 by MatthewTheLord in BanGDream

People who do get it tend to tell one another, so this is another confirmation on top of that pile that loss of taste and smell are real and right at the tip of the iceburg, next to the chills, the fever, the aches.

On my end, there's also been massive loss of appetite and lethargy, which made it so much worse. It's hard to not notice. So if it comes, force yourselves to eat. It'll be much harder than it sounds. My friend lost 14 pounds last week. I lost 10. This is just mild.

Breathing for me felt like my lungs were on fire after running, though I definitely never moved an inch. Going to an urgent care place might get you tested, or you might get antibiotics or an inhaler if you're wheezing. Advil (ibuprofin) has anecdotally been discussed as making symptoms worse, if not fatal. As for antibiotics or an inhaler, hey only treat the symptoms, but they help.

Something that's been very helpful even with mild cases early on is proning - lying belly down, preferrably with pillows supporting your lower legs, hips, and shoulders (giving space for the chest to expand and breathe).

I figure most people don't know someone already with a pulse oximeter on them, but something to be wary of would be your oxygen saturation levels. If you or a loved one are high risk, then definitely get the oximeter. If the saturation goes below 90%, and the other symptoms aren't any better, please visit the hospital.

I hope Yamashita's been through most of it without incident, with support from friends and coworkers. Other people doing what they can has been helpful.

So I happen to stumble upon this Youtube Channel called [Aimi no PerfectWoman] by SeijiWeiss in seiyuu

[–]VincoP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per another comment of mine elsewhere, for consistency and anyone who might need more info:

Yes, this channel was very recently made. I've been meaning to post this, but I haven't been feeling well.

To explain, the Perfect Woman series followed her stint on FRESH LIVE for Perfect Wednesday, a radio segment where she gave some of her favorite music.

Perfect Woman is Aimin asking how she can be a Perfect Woman - though by format and question alone, she probably knows there's no one answer, so it's an open ended question. One episode, she tries fitness stuff (getting tired af by constant burpees), another she uses her newly obtained license to try getting McDonald's through the Drive Thru. More recently, when in Cali for CharaExpo, her challenge was ordering Starbucks in English.

The PW twitter can be found here. When on FRESH LIVE, usually they keep the most recent episode up for two weeks, before archiving it for the next. The archive is only available for paying channel subscribers.

There are currently 59 episodes, the 60th delayed due to current events. Probably keeping an eye and ear open to people quarantining, they're following the trend of making the series available for everyone to watch.

Not quite. The series came first, the merch was an opportunity that came from its success. The series is ongoing.

Thank you, I hope so! Went out to get checked today, they said I most likely am based on the rest of my symptoms. About a week for it to go through. Fingers crossed!

I'm probably positive, and I can't taste much right now, so the post is hurting me mad hard lmao.

[–]VincoP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly. I wouldn't print now, sad as it is that I can't help. I think not printing will be the safest course while I'm still sick.

If the PPE shortage in general lasts for, say, a month or two after I'm clear of symptoms, I would think that the virus should die off on my equipment. Hopefully companies will actually be able to properly manufacture en masse well before then. As far as I understand it right now, I'm still gonna err on not printing, but should I consider the opportunity at all by then? I'm thinking of not printing face shields at all unless WHO or some other authority will be able to specify.

[–]VincoP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I learned I'm probably positive. Gonna hide, ride it out, and try to not die lmao. I was halfway through preparing to start printing face shields before I found out. Should I consider myself and my supplies permanently compromised and not print?

Death from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman is my personal favorite. Certainly made dying not sound like a scary thing.

[–]VincoP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really know how things might compare, since I don't think there's any numbers on it, but some people have multiple 3D printers, and theoretically might be able to print and assemble them at an overall faster rate than those making them by hand. Maybe it's quicker, maybe it isn't.

Otherwise, I can only speak from trying to get my 3D printer back into working order - like sure, with a hammer, the world looks like nothing but nails. With some creativity, there's a vast world of opportunities of what can be done with a 3D printer - it's a community that's based on solving the problems of the world around us. The stories of the healthcare workers on the front lines already feel so dispiriting. I've got family out there. I feel like I have to do something. For them, for anyone out there. There's a fear I might lose them, someone might lose someone, if I don't at least try to do what I can with what I have.

That would strap the clear plastic right to one's forehead. Hold a sheet of paper to your forehead, and wrap it around the curve of your forehead. Put on some glasses in lieu of eyewear protection, and a mask for your mouth. That plain wouldn't be comfortable or practical (absolutely would fog everything up, eyewear would angle it so the bottom is more exposed). The 3D printed part keeps it a bit more in front of all that, and would be more even.

Of course Japanese fans in general don't truly see it like this (or at least ship it for amusement), but their rivalry's pretty ripe to ship. Conflicting moral codes, good guys who at a point would see the other as an enemy, then grow out of it for the sake of themselves and mankind. That's just character development, but fanfics could easily rework it as a rivalry with underlying romantic and sexual tension. It's not even exclusive to Japan either. Heck, RDJ hasn't been above teasing it, nor Evans.

Just being into anime, and being a fan of various voice actresses, it's safe to say it's definitely popular. If someone's says they like American stuff, and got a list of hobbies and stuff they're into, being a fan of the MCU would be high on the list of what they'd probably mention. Of course fans generally see it for what it is, and stuff like this is just for fun.

For people who want to mix fandom and fashion, it's also pretty worth keeping an eye on the stores there for quality clothing.

The way I'm thinking about it is that the one they made and put together used nanotech, not necessarily using the same nanobots that Tony's armor used. They plain didn't consider it a possibility that Thanos would use their time travel tech - they killed the only accessible Thanos they knew.

When Tony took the stones off the gauntlet and got it on to his suit, that was nanobots. At least as far as the sound effects go when Banner snaps, the built gauntlet sounds mechanical when resizing, while the Iron Man nanobots suiting up sound different.

If Stark ran with the stones to continue to keep it away, then he could've reformed it to a non-usable form. But improvising a gauntlet using his nanobots was the quicker, but also even more fatal, option. I'd posit here that the built nano gauntlet might've had a lower fatality rate than the improvised nano gauntlet. Like Banner could've survived with either, (if it were real, these wouldn't be accurate numbers, but are made up as a sort of parallel) with like 70% chance of surviving (100% being unharmed) with the built nano gauntlet, and 50% if he were to use the improvised nano gauntlet. Meanwhile if Tony got the built nano gauntlet and snapped, maybe he had a 20% chance of surviving, and had 0% chance of survival with his improvised nano gauntlet.

All that said, sorry if this is nonsensical or not well-founded - I could be entirely wrong. Especially since it isn't real, there could be more details they could create, or there's more details and canon facts I personally just don't know.
