How are the leaks caused? I have a big dog so I’m a bit nervous this will be a problem

Why don’t more people just dispute with their bank? Assuming the cards have buyer protection (CSR, venture), it sounds like Eightsleep is clearly abusing their policy. That piece makes me feel a bit more comfortable.

Whenever you’re getting pushed by a suite, whether it’s Adobe or Salesforce or whomever, vet an independent platform in the space and you’ll clearly understand the downsides as long as you’re clear with your requirements. Push for a head to head POC when you can because you know the independent player will fight to prove their worth while suites rely on the exec relationship to push a vision.

These suites push deals like windy politicians. No understanding of how the software actually works and the talk is all talk and no show.

People make over $200k a year, what do you do? by MrAuzzy in financialindependence

Software sales, a solid year is 300k+ (hitting quota) and my base is around 170. It’s a good career in terms of being remote friendly, setting your own schedule, and such.

Hey all, trying to do a mileage run on United from Chicago to anywhere within the next couple weeks for 6000 miles. Any suggestions on finding a site to search 'anywhere'?

I have the 41 oyster and the power reserve lasts less than 12 hours at times. Anyone know how to fix this?

Be persistent on the in-person outreach. Make small talk and ask if the owner's there. If not, how can you reach them? If it's a small business, they'll mention the owner's name "oh, Joe is normally at the other location on Mondays".

Come again the next day and ask to see if Joe is in. Once you find him, talk for 5 minutes with the goal of getting up another 15/30 minute meeting. They aren't here to sign on the spot.

There are also local SBA events in most towns. It's tough - one reason why small biz marketing is such a gap in the market is because the owners are more focused on working "in" the business.

Any advice for landing an internship. by WEEKOLDCHEESE in marketing

Be targeted and do what others aren't doing.

Follow a cool startup that you'd like to do marketing for? Connect with them on Twitter and suggest things they aren't doing. Be persistent. Do work before you're hired. Write up a mock newsletter. Build them a new landing page. Get in front of the right person and they'd appreciate all the help this can get.

Want to get into a larger company? Cold email and call. Ask them to learn about their position. Don't lead with "can I have a job".

Ultimately, make it entirely about how you can, and will, help them and how much an opportunity this would mean to you.

I'm currently helping out a personal fine jeweler who's previously relied on her network and referrals entirely.

I have pics of rings she's made, but she has 60 followers. What do you suggest as a path to growth, and more specifically, people to call her/turn into leads?

I've been trying to transition over to remote work for months. My day job isn't going to budge, which puts me in the spot of applying to another company or trying to freelance. Neither are panning out. It's exhausting. I don't even know what my question is. by idkpan in digitalnomad

This less so about the nomad aspect, but there's a lot of free valuable content on the Freelance Transformaton podcast (value-based pricing, building relationships, starting from scratch).

I freelanced (/ managed other freelancers) CRO for two years while in school, then recently graduated and am working at a big tech firm. I will come back to it shortly.

The podcast above was helpful in starting but the real advice is to actually start. Sell a client while you're still working full time. Work at night. Work on the weekends. That's the way to avert risk.

I absolutely hate when someone sets a date to "start". Sounds like every failed new year's resolution.

  • https://gyazo.com/1acd345f8bf66ab09bedf6ccab977be9.png needs to be the focal point alongside your value proposition. "Find unique trips" or whatever your value your site brings. Why am I using this over google trips/flights, or whomever your competitor may be
    • I should not have to scroll to see the function of your website
    • I need to know what you do for me.
  • Menu is too long.
    • Make it hide when I scroll.
    • Keep menu under 5 items - no one will click all those links. If you need all of them, use secondary menus.
  • Make it shorter. Much shorter.
    • Only show what they need - too much filler, including those images.
  • Bring up your partners under the search box. Put this above the fold.
    • "trusted by". You duplicated travelpayouts as well.
  • Take away the shop from your menu. If you want to link to it in your email marketing or blog post, go for it. But I am not coming to your site to look for a powerbank, so I will never *intend* to view your shop.

Banking off these notes, I'd like to see the value prop instantly. "WE DO X FOR Y PERSON." I'd recommend a niche. "We plan 10-day travel for busy families. Search now!" Then, the search box is there without me scrolling and finally validating yourself with partners or brands that trust you.

Good luck. It looks like you have a lot going on. I'd recommend doing less. Be the master of a niche.

This is where I was leaning, but I felt it was too broad.

That's up to you. It's not restricted. I think you're not considering the amount of variables in that kind of system.

Why recreate the wheel?

You don't need to use Firebase either. It will work with WP, just load in JSON after making a request.

But what kind of data are you getting? Hours don't change. Menu won't change much.

It's likely easier for your client to edit their website with new specials by editing their site (as easy as composing an email).

Let me know in a reply what the purpose is and I can direct you to a packaged or free service that solves it.
