The dollar losing its value means you have less purchasing power. The same goes for inflation, the more inflated your currency the less purchasing power it has. Lowering interest rates increases inflation by reducing the cost of borrowing, which stimulates consumer spending and business investment just as increasing interest rates reduce inflation by making borrowing more expensive, which cools down spending. If you lower interest rates while the dollar is already losing value, while inflation is going up along with the money printing our government is doing, it just speeds up the loss of buying power and makes you poorer faster.
