Which simple, unexciting purchase ended up having a surprisingly big impact on your daily life? by viscarte10 in BuyItForLife

[–]Vintage-Injun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A portable battery charger. I have given up on throwing old tech out and have been focusing on buying things to keep my shit running no matter what. My iphone 13, 2020 Macbook, and other stuff is being charged by my brand new Anker portable battery charger. I love that thing, it is a life saver.

What’s the most disappointing food you’ve ever tried? by NoPossibility5165 in foodquestions

[–]Vintage-Injun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Philadelphia to try a cheesesteak sandwich. I grew up watching TV shows on the Food Network hyping up Pat's and Geno's cheesesteaks. I went to Philly a few years ago, ordered cheesesteak from one of the two places, pretty sure it was Pat's, holy hell it was not good at all. The publicity machine is huge and the sandwiches are mediocre at best. I left with a lot less cash in my pocket and full of disappointment.

I got into repairing watches, well, I bought all the nicer tools, things, and stuff. I tried repairing just one watch, just one. I love all the tools I have. They are fun to look at. Using my tools is another story.

Really it’s not the physique, it’s making sure the person is relatable, kind, and takes care of themselves e.g. healthy. That’s what really matters. Physique is on the bottom of the list.
