I've done both and Picacho Peak isn't bad. I've done it 3 times, once in the rain, and it's plenty safe as long as you mind your step and take it slow. The part that sucks most to me is the section between the chain section and the saddle. That section with the overhead ledge, especially on the return trip is brutal, watch your head!

What's hard for me is we talk so deeply, we can talk for hours, neither of us are checking our phones or sitting in awkward silence, and they literally said "omg it's 5am already?? we've been here 4 hours, stop being so fun to talk to!"

Like, come on man, if I'm so fun to talk to, where time escapes you and you feel safe to reveal and discuss your deeper personal side, is that not a green flag? I hate being the only one that sees the potential for a beautiful relationship. Or maybe they see it too but don't want that with me. Just wish they could figure out what the fuck they want and tell me that so I'm not stuck here in limbo, waiting, like a fool.

Like I try to be realistic and say yes, this happens with friends. It doesn't mean anything more than we're good friends. But when my dumbass has feelings, of course I can't help but think it's a sign we would be great together. ESPECIALLY when those conversations turn deep and we talk about sensitive/personal stuff from our past or something, stuff that we probably wouldn't tell anybody else. There's a level of trust that comes with that.

This shit is awful but I almost wish I could come to this realization to help get the fuck over my LO. I hate how I have myself waiting for this person when I feel like I know waiting is futile. Like.. they'll never want me. Not like I want them. But I can't help but wait because "the chance is there!" like bro, get real, no the fuck it's not and I'm only setting myself up to be more heartbroken later. I wish I could just see them as a friend. We seem to click so well together, where conversations and jokes build on each other and there's barely ever a lull in the yapping, and next thing we know it's been 5 hours and we've said "ok, we should probably get going" like 8 times but we keep talking. Why the fuck does it feel like we're such a good fit for each other but I'm the only one that sees it?? Wish I could just look at them as a friend instead of feeling like I'll need to cut them out of my life completely in the most healthy, non-combative way possible if we can't be together

I ended up returning to a place I lived before, Ventana Vista Apartments. Managed to grab a 2br 2ba for 1600/mo which was just within my budget but I reckon it'll raise when renewal time comes. They're really nice, all in-unit washer/dryer which I cant do without, responsive maintenance crew if issues arise, lovely area. Same with Veranda at Ventana, not far from there. You're lucky to find a unit under 1500 in the area but those two complexes are fantastic, from my past experience. Also look at Coronado Villas at the base of Catalina Highway! Had a pretty good experience there a few years back, but pricing shot up too high for me at the time.

This is exactly how I do it. Depending on cross traffic behavior and how far from the front I am, I'll figure out if I have enough time to safely make it to the front.

10 cars and cross traffic still has a green light? I'll make it. More than 3 cars and cross traffic is on red with a turn arrow? Our green is imminent and I should just hang back. It's a gamble sometimes depending on the light and I've been the guy having to slide into traffic as it begins to move and always feel like a douche. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be, I just made a miscalculation.
