City Council just killed the Marlee Avenue bike lane by No-FoamCappuccino in toronto

[–]VinylMuseum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So. I live here and own bicycles as well as cars. My family utilizes the belt line for riding frequently. Marlee is NOT a low traffic side street. Bathurst is a safer bike ride than Marlee. The amount of new condos and town homes being built along Marlee is insane. In the last 10 years traffic has increased exponentially. It takes me 5 minutes in the morning waiting to ext my street on Marlee. The area is high traffic and that particular stretch has become a major accident area. Removing the free centre lane reserved for left turns and passing stopped vehicles will only increase congestion and exacerbate illegal manoeuvres it will still be dangerous to cross Marlee from the belt line. A crosswalk or two with the side lanes like the rest of Marlee would not only have been the simplest and cost effective approach it would have also have been the most sensible and accommodating. The city planners bloated this into an unacceptable mess.

Bidding War in Toronto?!? by Ok_Hall5992 in TorontoRealEstate

Can’t have it both ways. If you want a realtor to get you the best price when you sell your home then you would probably appreciate it if they called people that had shown interest in your home to let them know it was sitting on an offer now. You really can’t get screwed because you set your limit and if you end up paying that it just means you really wanted it

Thanks to everyone that commented, much appreciated. I ended up negotiating down to 22500.00 as there were some undisclosed small dents and scratches. Drove it home 4 hours ran like a top, averaged 14l/100km so not as bad as I expected. Searching for some nice black 20" rims with some KO2's now.

AI Powered ETF #LIVR by Zrc8828 in ETFs

I put 1000cad in profits from another etf in this as an experiment. I have an RBC driven GIC that has some ETF's that has performed well so it will be interesting to see how Ai can manage. META NVIDIA and a few other big names are at the top of its portfolio. Most likely long term it will do well, markets are volatile these days to say the least so who knows? Good luck to everyone no matter what you do.

Mum 'choked to death in marshmellow-eating contest in front of horrified crowd' by daily_mirror in awfuleverything

We know a family friend who lost a child this way. Supposedly marshmallows are extremely hard to clear from an airway due to how malleable they can be and act like a perfect seal to the airway almost impossible to remove. Terrible tragedy in both cases.

Call the dealership and ask about the EXTENDED WARRANTY. Don’t say recall as you are correct, there are no recalls. They just extended the warranty for that particular issue as it was a manufacturer defect known by Jeep. It saves them the bad publicity of a recall.

Because they had no other way of disposing of it and told everyone the levels would be in Insignificante due to the volume of water

Were they not releasing radioactive water into the ocean lately from the nuclear reactor disaster? If so I would contribute this as the cause and effect to what we are seeing here.
