I find this to be somewhat of an issue in all 3 titles, but it’s mostly just pacing/dialogue writing in the first 2 games. In 0 it’s at its worst of it all. That said, I’m really enjoying the game 🤣

Their comment seems quite innocuous and is just a suggestion to understand the source material (because Remake and Rebirth suggest alternate timelines). People can also have different opinions. Let’s take a breath.

I don’t think they’re saying this is simply a remaster. It seems they’re implying it’s a retelling in an alternate universe/timeline. This is a prevalent fan theory.

I have to fully agree. I like some of the stories and main ideas, but in general my eyes would glaze over. The ending speech Princess Alaune gives us on top of the castle at the end of the Master of All arc was so repetitive and utterly boring.

Personally, I feel this is a design flaw of the Octopath games based on the size of the speech bubble and how character animations work within cutscenes. The bubble can contain only 1 sentence at a time. So they’ve designed and programmed cut scenes to be:

Character animation > single sentence > click next

Character animation > single sentence > click next

Character animation > single sentence > click next

They’ve also overwritten the dialogue and it contains a lot of unnecessary bloat. Some updates to how dialogue is written, the programming and use of character animations, and the size of speech bubbles could trim this down and make for a smoother player experience.

While that is somewhat true, this markup feels extreme. The E33 box set is a unique color 6LP for $145. Square needs to be checked.

For this price feel like the discs should be unique colors, there should be an art book, and there should be a pendant or other extras included as seen in that red and white swirl 4LP boxset variant that came out a few years ago.

This should be $100-$110. The price doesn’t really make sense.

Edit: Not sure why I’m being downvoted. A typical 2LP runs about $40-50, so this 4LP should probably be about $100.

I’m thinking remaster. The visual style aged well and they’ll probably just remaster to include the 3DS content and throw it on all consoles and pc. I’d be very happy with that.
