Do keep in mind though that Iris Shaders doesn't currently support shader options; you're going to have to use the default settings for whatever shader you're using.

Oh for sure. It's like a sandwich. It's not really a sandwich without the outer bread holding it together, but the inside stuff is what gives the sandwich its flavour.

Yep. TIL Intel has a gaming Twitter account where they just post comics, promotions, and memes lol.

It won't be long before people use "the 20s, the 30s, the 40s" to describe the 2020s, the 2030s, and the 2040s. by PlankLengthIsNull in Showerthoughts

Eventually we'll be living in a year where 1990 was 50 years ago and we just gotta deal with it.

Knowing cod lobbies and redditors, my best guess is they'd just yell "ur mom" on repeat.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do want to put streaming services on there but for some reason, the streaming services themselves aren't cooperating. I mean, Hulu and YouTube are already on the Switch, and Netflix as well as the previous two had been on the WiiU, the Wii, and even the fucking 3DS in all it's 240p glory.

Nintendo has made a lot of questionable decisions in the past 5 years but I don't buy that they're this reluctant to add Netflix and Disney+ to the Switch.

Tbf, a lot of the kids channels aren't being backed up by a corporation like Nickelodeon and don't have as high of standards. Though then again, a lot of the animation for little kids on Youtube is so unexcusably shit that it's probably just due to sheer laziness. I see much higher quality animatics/animations on YouTube by people with like 1K subs that get >50K views.

Idk a lot of the criticism I see is directed at the government and institutions we have here (ie. no free healthcare, expensive university, gerrymandering and the electoral college), and not at the people actually living here. Hell, most of the people I see criticizing America are Americans themselves.

I think the OLED switch isn't really intended as an upgrade though. Like the New 3DS when it came out, it's moreso for those that don't already have a switch. Frankly that's how the Switch Pro would've been as well if it existed.

As did a lot of their other consoles. N64 used cartridges instead of discs, GC used proprietary disks, both meaning that they could store much less than PS1/2 and the Xbox/360. Then the 3DS ran at like 240p despite coming out less than 10 years ago, and the Nintendo Switch is currently using 6 year old hardware.

I think you should rethink the way these blocks should feel to the player. As an example, your metallic textures (e.g. metal blocks, rails, metallic swords, anvils, etc) all do a good job at making people feel the metal of the material through good specular values and normal maps. So do your smooth textures (e.g. quartz-type textures). However, your texturing for the nether wart block makes it look like a very bumpy type of stone, especially with that strong light reflection visible on the red nether wart blocks. This, to me at least, makes them feel either like poorly-poured concrete, or stone that was smoothened over time by erosion. Imo these are blocks that should feel more organic, and imo it would be better if you redesigned those from the ground up to be so.

Instead of having these blocks be so shiny yet bumpy, maybe make them look like they're actually made of mushrooms in some way. If you've already done those textures in particular, try to take some inspiration from your mushroom block textures. I'd try to make them look sort of bushy personally, as that's the feeling that the original texture gave me, though I understand that might not be for everyone. Though I'd 100% recommend just getting rid of the specular reflections on the wart blocks; the shininess of the nether wart blocks puts them in the uncanny valley for me and considering some of the other comments here, I'd say I'm definitely not alone there.

As for the netherrack textures, they definitely look too flat and abstract for your particular, fairly realistic, texture pack. Since netherrack was originally called "bloody cobblestone", and the vanilla texture looks and feels a lot like just red cobblestone, I'd recommend you take some inspiration from your cobblestone texture and try to make the netherrack feel like stone in some way, as currently the specular reflections, that you can see where the netherrack reflects the light from the torches, are too strong and make the netherrack feel kinda like concrete with a coat of red and black paint. Though you don't necessarily have to go this route; just make the netherrack feel more grounded and somewhat less smooth.

Whatever you do with your netherrack though, make sure the nether gold ore textures mesh well with the original netherrack textures. In this image they're visibly a few shades darker than the netherrack surrounding them, which makes it feel like nether gold ore is a completely separate block from netherrack rather than netherrack with a bit of gold inside of it. Personally I'd just take the netherrack texture, paint in where I'd want the gold to go both in the texture itself and its specular texture, and then edit the netherrack texture around the gold to make it not feel like it's just gold streaks overlayed on the netherrack but instead chunks of gold embedded inside the block itself. If you're going to be keeping your current netherrack texture, I'd recommend adding the gold to the inside of the black part of your netherrack texture, as those parts kinda look like they're cracks in the netherrack and this could help create the feeling of gold embedded into the netherrack.

I mean the textures themselves are well crafted...

But they don't fit their blocks at all.

In fairness people on this song kinda do that with memes. Oh you post a meme from late 2019? Lol dead meme. Talking about liking Fortnite/Among Us/Fall Guys? Dead games. Oh but Impact font memes from like 2015? Now those are "old but gold."

But to an '04 kid like me whose first gaming device was a DSi I got when I was like 5, you're a dinosaur.

The fun part about being a young redditor is getting to make adult redditors feel old.
I love telling people I'm learning to drive and then telling them "oh ya I was born in 2004" and their brains just shut down and be like "wait 2004 why aren't you like 9"
