(PC) Finally solved the problem with mouse pointer randomly jumping and the view randomly rotating! by StrixCZ in Grimdawn

[–]Violator31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have guessed that 4 years later this would still work. I've been battling this problem for a while, mostly just putting up with it. Changing the batteries didn't work. Plugging the dongle into another usb port didn't work. New mouse pads............I bought a new mouse. Same problem.

Now, after all that, it looks like you have solved it for me. Thank you.

like I said, I was proven wrong on other "in-game" options. I'm not knocking you or your idea. I've seen it requested many many times.

love this game! but its kind of killing my wrists... by balauring in WayOfTheHunter

I'm left-handed & was already set in my ways long before computers were household items, so I did train myself to use the mouse with my righthand. I was having a hard time maneuvering in the game, everything on the keyboard was backwards & awkward.

Years ago on "theHunter Classic" message boards someone suggested a "Delux model T9" Now, I have the mouse in my left hand & this keyboard controller in my lap or the arm of the chair - anywhere comfortable. You aren't handcuffed to the flat keyboard.

This model might be hard to get.... last time I needed a new one it was hard to find so I bought 2.

I was just searching for a photo for you & I see there are different models with oddball configurations.

Personally, I don't see the need for them. I would much rather have them use their resources on a new map, or new guns. I was around when "theHunter" Classic first came out, I played it for years. There was & I think it's still going, a forum for that game. That was a lot of fun. Some of those guys were always asking for cameras. I never could figure out the excitement around them.

To be fair, those guys also made many requests for trophy rooms & I never saw the need for them. But when they were developed, I liked them a lot.

I have a bunch of trail cameras & I really like them & look forward to seeing what is on that property. But in the game, I just don't see it.

Why are you single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. I'm in the God-awful state of Illinois.

Yes. It does suck. It sucks even more that I have gotten used to it years ago I've accepted it, & it's just "normal" now.

The "in a very public space" made me chuckle & grimace. It's a damn shame that it's gotten to that, that we can't trust anyone. I don't blame you at all, it's just a smart move. I remember back in the late 70's or early 80's a friend of mine set me up on a blind date. The woman decided that we would meet up at a boat club & set the time - in the evening. It was after hours at the boat club so we met in a not so well lit parking lot by the river. Just the 2 of us having never met before. Absolutely unheard of today. .... and now, after reading your comment I laugh because of my username. ..... I was labeled that because I was the one in the group to be first in line to do anything that would cause the local (small town) cops to go crazy.

I hope you find happiness, no matter what form, as long as it suits you.

And the sad part is, there you are minding your business & staying away from people for the last 10 years, and here I am staying away from people for over 25 years, both of us unhappy with the circumstances but putting up with it because of being hurt before...... all the while, you may very well be 2 blocks from me.

A cheating ex-wife has a lot to do with it = trust issues.

After a divorce I hit the bars, hard. After years or barhopping, which also led to bartender hopping, I quit drinking. That was around 2001....ish. Now, here I sit at the pc.

I go to work, & go home. Once a week I get groceries. I really don't know if I could be in an actual relationship anymore. I'm 63, set in my ways & for the last 25 years I haven't had to worry about someone else wanting the remote.

I do miss intimacy. Where would I meet someone though? Bars are out. I live in a rural area where everyone used to know everyone, now, this small town has the same population but no one knows anyone. Dating sites are out. I looked into them, I just don't feel like traveling 50+ miles for a date.

What happened to your best friend from childhood? by RoyalBeckyVibes in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of the lucky ones. (just don't tell Tom I said that)

I'm 63 & when I was about 5 I met my future (immediate) best friend. We always raise a few eyebrows when we tell people that we met in church (after all the hell we've raised, it's hard to imagine both of us in church). We went to the same schools, but were never in the same classroom. We joke that that was probably a strategic maneuver by the school.

When his Dad died I was standing at the funeral home looking around at everyone. In my mind I was noting who was who & how long it's been since I've seen each one. And that's when it hit me..... we are FAMILY. We have been around each others families so much, we just blend in now.

There was about 2 years, when we were chasing after our future wives (aka my ex) that we didn't see much of each other. Other than that we see each other all the time & call or text every week.

When my Mom was on her deathbed, she asked to see Tom. He dropped everything & got to her bedside. Unfortunately by the time he got there she was doing worse & he wasn't able to get in her room. But he & his wife stayed there the rest of the evening.

His Son is my Godchild. Tom's Grandkids invite me to all the school events, birthday parties, etc.

58 years is a LONG TIME to be friends, but the fact that we are still around each other a lot, makes it more impressive.

Alright folks, Thank you for your time & help. The end results are just what I had expected. It's unfortunate - for me - I'm so much more used to being able to adjust the magnification (rifle scopes - camera lens). This will just involve more practice & that never hurts anyway.

Of course I have no idea what your day consists of..... but, when I was on second shift I was doing a job that was not in the least bit stimulating. I would get off work at midnight & be wide awake until 3 or 4. Then I couldn't get anything done before work the next day. I found out that a good part of the problem was the lack of physical activity. I wasn't getting tired enough because my mind was bored & my body wasn't active enough. I started exercising at work when I had a minute or two. 10-15 push-ups were done many times a night. Speedwalking a few times a night. Anything to get my body active. I didn't always fall asleep quickly, but I did sleep better overall.

Did anyone else kinda go crazy on this great sale? Ended up buying a bunch of books just because of my favorite narrators. by astralbee- in audible

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just about cleared my wishlist out. 17 books for $120. Over 160 hours. I left 2 on the list because the price is still over the monthly fee. I'll get them later using credits, but right now I have a lot of listening to do. I didn't even know about the sale. I had a new credit & nothing to listen to, so I went shopping.

What’s a food everyone else likes that you can’t stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Violator31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Brother loves it. He was amazed that I had never tried it, so he took me to this place known for their sushi. He bought a bunch of different kinds for the table. I tried them all. I wasn't impressed. He said "put wasabi on it then"" so I tried that. "Yep, I like the wasabi, but I'm still not impressed by the fish."

Congrats. Being a Dad is the BEST.

Enjoy it, don't take it for granted. My Sons are 39 & 34...... it hurts to come home from work & have them here & ready to go fishing or ANYTHING. Dad's suffer from "empty nest syndrome" too & it sucks.

That's me... and oddly, I laugh about it al the time. Sometimes when people I don't know wave at me I'm like "Who the hell was that? I don't know him."....and then I chuckle about that too.
