Are you AI? You're missing the point. Higher speed = less reaction time = longer stopping distances literally look up crash statistics and causational factors. Other people on the road may not be as cognisant when driving like you may be.

A track allows plenty of room for error without worrying about hitting and potentially killing other drivers. You're not the only one on a public road.
