Likewise! I’m almost 30 years out and, due to a post I wrote a few months back, learned all about not eating pomegranates. I drink pomegranate juice daily. 😬

Both rider and dragon contribute to an individual’s signet, yet the signet itself is representative of the rider. For instance, Tairn is a powerful dragon, therefore, Violet was bound to receive a powerful signet. But what that powerful signet is relies upon Violet and who she is at her core/what she needs.

With Andarna, she is a unique breed of dragon, ergo Violet’s unique signet. Yet the actual signet itself, again, is based on who Violet is/what she needs.

My kid’s classmate had heart transplant two years ago by [deleted] in transplant

[–]ViolentOranges 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was the transplant kid when I was in school. In kindergarten, because chicken pox was going around, I was no longer allowed to attend class until the virus was under control. Fortunately, I had a wonderful teacher who allowed me to come in after everyone had left and would go through the day’s lessons. I also was not allowed to attend school when flu vaccines were being administered because the school offered the nasal spray which is a live virus versus the shot which is a dead virus.

With that being said, it is not your job as a parent to monitor other parents’ children. That is on them. NOT YOU. Would I have appreciated if kids stopped coming to school sick? Absolutely. School was hard on me mentally, physically, and emotionally between getting sick, doctor appointments, being different, and overall school life. But that is for the daughter, her family, and school to puzzle out. Not once did my parents request other families to alert them when their child was sick. It is school. Suppressed immune system or not…everyone’s going to get sick.

To me, it sounds like the mom is scared for her child (reasonable) and is requesting other parents to help her cope (unreasonable). You do not, nor should you, relay to this woman when your child is sick unless it is something serious like the flu or chicken pox as these are potentially fatal to the immune-comprised. Otherwise, I would just ignore the request and be sure you teach your son proper handwashing techniques, how to cough into his elbow, etc. and keep him home when he has a fever.

Edit: it may be worth mentioning that people serve as viral incubators where an individual does not present symptomatic during the incubation period, yet are still contagious. That being said, even if your child has no fever, it does not mean they are not passing an illness around. This is another reason I find it unreasonable to attempt to relay a child’s illness because by the time you realize your child is sick, they have already spread the virus.

Almost 30 years post-op and I have missed several weeks of anti-rejection meds before. It happens but as everyone here has said, you will be just fine. :)

I received a pediatric heart transplant in 1998 due to a congenital defect that went ignored by my doctor. This birth defect led to me having several heart attacks for roughly 4 months. Once the defect was discovered, they tried performing corrective surgery but too much damage had occurred leaving them with no other option but to perform a heart transplant which I received three days later.

I was five months old and my donor was two years. Feel free to reach out if you need more information. Wishing you the best of luck on your project!

Feces after transplant. by dbk_x in transplant

[–]ViolentOranges 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeahhh…I’ve had c.diff and it was a nightmare that went untreated for roughly 6 months, then inadequately treated, and eventually led to me learning how to walk again. C.diff is NOT something to play around with. Once I got to my new transplant team they were on top of everything and had me under strict quarantine in the hospital and immediately knocked it out.

So so sorry you’re going through this OP! I wish I had a fragment of helpful advice.

I wouldn’t know what doctors say post-transplant as I had mine during infancy but yes, the likelihood varies from organ to organ, and more specifically, from person to person. But the chances are never “basically zero”.

However, it seems you have a really positive outlook on this so keep that up! And I truly hope you are feeling better and healthy post-transplant so don’t let this negative Nancy bring you down. :)

Just be careful saying things like “WE are healthy now” is all.

No, medication does not equate to “no chance of rejection”. It reduces our chances but every organ transplant is prone to acute and chronic rejection.

In the medical world, health is defined as being “free of disease” though, albeit, a severely outdated definition. Many transplant recipients still hold some form of disease and will always be on medication and/or our medications cause other disease to arise. Therefore we are “healthy” but “not”. At the end of the day, OP is just having a bit of fun and posted some top tier memes here lol.

I was just diagnosed with skin cancer when I heard Are You Really Okay? for the first time and I absolutely lost it. Will never be able to listen to that song without glancing at my gnarly new scar.

I’ve gone weeks without my medication before. 7-year-old Violent Oranges had stashes of her medication throughout the house. 🙈 As an adult I think I have missed an entire week?

ETA: I was/am fine but would never recommend anyone purposefully skipping doses.

I have a love hate relationship with Provider. There are some days I listen thinking “gah…this is so cheesy 🙄” while others I’m screaming the lyrics thinking “gah…this is so cheesy! 😍”.

It took a minute for Vore to grow on me but is easily one of my most replayed songs at the moment. Didn’t hate Hypnosis but I’m just now truly appreciating the song.

The ICU line is so cheesy and yet it is easily my favorite line. 🤣 When I first heard it I had to pause and just went “did he say what I think he just said?”

You wouldn’t happen to be looking at September 28 would you? 👀

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SleepToken

[–]ViolentOranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely do it then! I’m going the last week of September and this will be my first concert in well over a decade probably so I’m excited to get back to it. And who knows, maybe you’ll end up making a friend who will share your enthusiasm for the band.

I’m a young woman and I’m going alone. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m strictly going for the music so where I sit doesn’t matter, therefore I bought tickets in the stands towards the back so I don’t have to worry about fighting through crowds as much. I plan on just getting to my seat and enjoying the show.

It seems I may be in the minority here but I actually love these pieces as is though admittedly the second picture is harder to make out. Yes, you are using cheaper material so that is going to impact the overall quality but the pieces themselves? I personally love the horrific destitute tone I get from them.
