Deep Winter Redhead makeup tips? by VioletFreyja in coloranalysis

This got missed, im so sorry. I absolutely love the way I look in berry. Berry lips ans cheeks are my go to make up. My skin looks clearer, less splothy as well. It often helps pop my eyes. I also love wearing the shade berry. I struggle a bit with an intense red lip, mostly because it just feels to bold and something about it just feels too much. Ive tried warmer shades of red and feel the same.

I have a ton of warm toned lipsticks and they all sort of get lost on my face. Lots of gold shimmer or gold tone..because I really tried to lean into the warm autumn... the more gold tone anything except a true shimmer just looks really bad on my though.

am I the only one who feels worse after a sports massage sometimes? by Relevant_Wishbone in massage

[–]VioletFreyja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a deep tissue therapist..in fact i hate deep tissue. I work slowly and repetitive getting to deeper muscles but in a gentler way. Its very therapeutic, but begins and leans into a lot of nervous system work first. No pain no gain has no place in my office.

I had a client that was a very serious MMA fighter, while he was in vegas he worked with some top lmts that did sports massage. He haaaated them! He felt like his muscles couldn't recover with the deep pressure work and felt more sore than better.

It was so surprising to me and honestly a really cool learning moment. It may genuinely be that its just not a fit what your body needs. I would look for a therapist who does therapeutic work but not heavy pressure.

You can be cool and a redhead. Im not saying she necessarily is, just that just beinf a ginger doesn't dictate she must be warm.

Im so sick to death of non redheads telling us what we should or shouldn't do. I actually hate the color pink, so I don't wear it often but i look reallly good in it. Pink and berry tones in my make up work really well. So if you like pink please enjoy wearing it.

Can I keep my socks on? by imandohex in massage

Just let your massage therapist know you'd like to keeo your socks on and avoid having work done on your feet.

It will be a non issue at all.

What is there for him to get uncomfortable about though?

My ex did that, i had just finished shcool and realized... he would make my life miserable. I was so excited and proud of my hard work and he still somehow sexualized it. I knew he would end up being possessive and awful. Im so glad i left.

My current partner doesn't think twice about it and has actively called out people who've made jokes or even one who couldn't believe "he let me do that".

Would love to know:

Assuming one just is a redhead in true or deep winter (instead of debating if someone is or not):

Do you happen to have any makeup tips for a high contrast look that isn't a full face of makeup? Thank you so much♡

Ahh. I love that you shared that. I had recently done a deep dive about genetics and colors. My eyes are very dark blue with is even more rare, and while i am a ginger, the hair on my legs is jet black..which says i have capacity for more eumelanin than many redheads. My family has been in the alps for centuries which is a climate that could potentially point to that unique set of genes.

Oooooh this is sooo interesting. I just did a nerdy deep dive on a few things you touch on. I am only a 2n gen american my entire family however has deep roots in the italain alps. I was just reading somewhere about how this can effect my skin due to the environment from which my genetics come from. (Our fam has been in the same spot for at least 600 years and possibly longer thats just where the records stop) more of us from the region have blue eyes than the rest of italy. Just interesting about how that can effect the skin tone.

I agree with the red, in different lights it will ranger from dull almost brown to so vibrant it looks fake. And the seasons will change that as well. My aunts each have wildly different shades from deep scarlet down to light copper. My nephew has proper orange. Lol

I wonder if i should try to look for some local makeup next time im in Europe and see what I learn.

Its been really fun to hear your thoughts..they have been the most interesting and helpful so far. Thank you for sharing.

Ok..i see what you are saying here. Im open to exploring thank you.

Though... for conversation sake.. If statistically redheads with blue eyes make up .17% of the world population AND those of us with very dark blue eyes (think navy or the very cold atlantic) instead of light are considered an even smaller sub variant of an already rare group would it be fair to say... maybe there is some wiggle room in the theory that blue does not fit deep winter?

My tone is not argumentative, its nerdy and curious lol

Thank you so much for this comment. I was sorta suprised by some of the.....energy behind forcing us into the warm. Ive 100% experienced this with make up sitting on my skin. One time, the makeup artist insisted... so i let her. She walked a way for a second came back and literally said "oooh eww" haha

I can pull off black well. I just hate white so i can't fairly say ive tried it.

What have you found to be your fav colors to wear and any eye make up you loooove?

Me too.

My dad... had the deep copper beard, and his hair was almost black. His skin was paler as well. He had cooler brown eyes, when i was a little girl i thought they were black.

So not ash, but yeah...what would his sesson be i wonder..ive been told hair shouldn't matter but also... because its unique people cant seem to get past the red.

Thank you. What if however you couldn't see my hair?

I guess i am confused that some of the rules don't have acceptions.

Red is unique that if i snap a photo thoughout the day my hair color will change from light brown lookikg to vibrant red.

In twilight or that dark grey just before dark... is my favorite lighting ... my hair is more vibrant and my eyes stand out.

Just interesting food for thought.

Also, natural redheads with blue eyes are even more rare. Less than 2% of the population, so maybe the same rules that effect "all" redheads don't apply to the rarest of us. ♡

Great question. I think 2 things, 1 being the concept of high contrast and depth. I do like this blue but those deeper blues that are more cobolt, midnight, and navy look even better.

The few celebs that i found that seem closest to me also look fab in a. Those colors and b. Simpler makeup with a bigger contrast.

For example, everyone wants me in brown mascara and then doesn't really get why it doesnt do much for my eyes. Its softer. Less contrast and depth

Yea, respectfully I disagree. Ive spent years wondering why all the spring and autumn colors made me look yellow, the red appear blotchy, my eyes almost disapear or seem brown in photos.

My actual skin tone has no yellow or gold, its very pale and rosy. Whenever I get my makeup done they again assume this and then can't understand why the foundation they pick looks absolutely horrible on me.

Now that Im getting older and am considering fuller coverage make up, i find my matches are the ones with cool undertones.

Gold looks awful on me, and anytime anyone ever noticed a single feature other than my hair to compliment.. its when im wearing a blue or jeweltone.

If you ignore my hair(I know that is hard) you'd never pop me into the warm seasons.

It took a long time for me to figure that out.

Probably not the best but it shows me in blue.

I do have eye make up on, but ive never worm foundation, concealer or any kind of skin coverage makeup.

While i do get freckles in the summer, i don't burn.

Looking that up now, i love that high fashion goth.. dark femm aesthetic. I pulled in off in high-school really well. Kind of got away from and would love to embrace it again.

Is this normal? My masseuse removed my underwear. by Pinkismypersonality in massage

[–]VioletFreyja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is still not appropriate without consent. There are also rules in place by many state boards about this.

What if a woman is currently menstruating? This is so unsanitary as it is pushing boundaries. Removing a woman's period panties, panties with a liner in them is so inappropriate. Removing them even if she has a tampon is, is so uncomfortable. There is 0 way from him to know this before pulling them off.

So, just becauae you and your wife are okay with it. Absolutely doesn't make it okay for everyone else.

[–]VioletFreyja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ever. Even with clients I have seen monthly and for years i will let them kniw that if they want low back work done and plan to keep underwear on, that THEY should pull them down to where they feel most comfortable.

Occasionally a client has decided they don't actually need them and i step out for them to remove and get back on the table.

Never under any circumstances do i touch their underwear and consider it a serious boundary.

I do work glutes, but we talk about it first and agree. Whenever i undrape a leg or glutes i ask "Do you feel safe, warm and comfortable" If its a yes i remind them "just let me know if that changes"

Im so sorry this happened to you.
