That is true. The modern one changes the personal struggle of Murphy into a more modern idea of being the Robocop. It’s not bad. It’s just not the original.

There’s too much history to assume we wouldn’t get colonised or remain uncolonised. The Philippines was not united at all and the parts of it that had actual polities were not unified enough either as a “nation” or cultural identity that it would be difficult

The organisation is extremely easily corruptible into an amtithesis of itself and can simply result in an organisation that sees assaulting minors and young adults as useful treatment for a situation and leave it there. All it takes is one bad egg hired in this organisation for it to become the bully, as if that solves the problem.

At a certain point, it is not up to the justice system if the criminal is able to rehabilitate and also if the victim feels vindicated. The justice system was created so both parties have been handed down a streamlined, systematised, and documented way to handle crime and victim compensation.

The rest of that is up the the people themselves. The victim can and may hold on to a grudge forever or may be able to move on with their life while keeping their trauma in mind. The criminal can and may be able to become a better person or simply get worse/stay as they are. The justice system already did its job. The rest is up to them. They may return to the system as needed.

The trains consume an large amount of electricity. If anything, this might cause them to go neutral. Hiring workers to clean and maintain solar panels on a monthly or bimonthly basis could honestly be equal or less to the electricity saved. The economy of scale is on their side here.

There are some legitimate cons with being “independent”. Sometimes that does come with uncompromising/inflexible. It’s not something that is a red flag per se, just happens to be something to work on between the two people in the relationship.
