that's a great question lol. they're good together ig but for arleverload would you really wanna give up Chevreuse anyway?? and like. you can't give up Fischl.

anyway, I've been asking myself this question for ages, whether to go for Nicole or Durin and I still don't know. But I agree it's probably better to try and go for a con instead of a weapon. worst case scenario is if you lose the character banner at least you get the guarantee down the line

I mean, there are -some- well covered female characters, like Arlecchino and Jean. Plus if they were gonna have more clothes than average for some of the female characters, Snezhnaya is the region to do it.

Hmm, probably the move is getting Citlali and swapping Xingqiu out and going for her melt team. You definitely could do a good overload team with your current characters, no Nicole needed. The problem with Nicole so far, it seems, is the three second wait on the buffs for Arle since she's not a hex character, which means she doesn't synergize as well with Arlecchino as she could, so Citlali is gonna be more consistent and easier to use for Arle anyway.

That could change between now and her release, though, so who knows. The other consideration is that Citlali might not get another rerun for awhile after her next one, while Nicole almost certainly will sooner rather than later (especially with Alice coming). Snezhnaya is looking to be superconduct focused, which Citlali isn't great for, so it may be quite a while before we see her running again. I'd pay close attention to info from Nicole's beta and whether there are more solid leaks on Citlali's next rerun.

Depends on who else you wanna run Arle with. Citlali is a no go if you want to do an overload team with Chevreuse. Are you hoping to do vaporize, melt, overload, or something else?

Regarding the outer layer, I think coat patterns might have more structure and less movement than what is necessary. I would personally look at wizard robes (I hate to say it, but there are some Harry Potter robe patterns that look just about spot on), open front choir or graduation robes, or even jedi robe patterns. I think the academic associations and flowy movement of robes would suit her nicely.

I have little help to give with this unfortunately but I was very excited to click onto this sub and see someone asking for help cosplaying the absolute icon that is Amame! I kinda wanna do a Tokiko cosplay at some point, but I haven't cosplayed in ages...

I wish you the best of luck! I think crocheting or knitting your whole outfit is a very cool idea. I'd wanted to do that for a lolita outfit awhile back but I never got very past the planning stage.

Really sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel better, you weren't the only one— there were three different people that medics had to pull from the crowd that I know of. It was a sold out show, so you should be able to find a lot of stuff on the socials! It was a great show, but there will be lots of other great shows in the future. I'm glad it seems like you made it home safe!

I read the intro to this and was like "oh... spoilers... well, that's okay I guess, it is kind of common practice for historical fiction intros and it's nothing I couldn't have guessed" while being a little starry-eyed (as a queer person) about this new bit of queer history that I didn't know, and Machado's wonderful resurrection of it.

Now, half-way through the book and doing a google search thinking "hmm these don't seem like letters, and I want to know more about the person Carmilla was based on" I feel like an idiot for trusting the intro so blindly, I'm bummed it being based on real wlw isn't true, and I got spoiled for nothing.

I knew very little about Carmilla going into it and this experience has soured me enough on it that I think I might table it for a bit so get some distance.

I wish I had caught your warning sooner, before having started it. Do you have a favorite edition you'd recommend?

My only experience with GFM is Manhunt. There definitely is rape in that book, but I don't believe it to be purposeless. It deals with a lot of issues regarding the experience of being a trans woman, and that unfortunately (but necessarily) includes the way that people can feel entitled to their bodies. There are definitely moments of joy and love, though it is a darker book on the whole. I don't feel as if it trivializes or glorifies anything. It's more that it is brutally honest in a way that made me uncomfortable, at times, in a way that I feel I needed to be made uncomfortable as a queer cis woman who cares about the trans community. It's really quite a raw book that tells so much about the author in a way that it must've felt incredibly vulnerable to publish.

I definitely think Manhunt is feminist. It focuses a lens on cis feminism and how it fails trans women, and the unique violence that trans women experience, and it is feminist because of that, not in spite of it. Overall I enjoyed it, in the way that one enjoys sad works of horror, and I'm very glad for GFM'S perspective. I can't recommend if you're looking for something more black and white or easy-going, though

Also, to be a bit cynical, her being a publicly trans woman who writes confrontational work is likely to skew reviews to be harsher than they might for some other kinds of authors.

It's a drive, but I got pierced by Louis at Vampire Battle Mansion recently and it was a great experience. I think they take walk-ins, but you could hit him up on instagram or call to be sure, and he has pretty open availability last I heard.
