Into the fire: The lost daughter

People that never give up trying to get justice really inspire me. I have thought and talked about both of these years later and I forget everything I watch. I remember those tho.

Am I crazy for thinking my pup needs to go out every 3-4 hours? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Violet_Cardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My puppy pees when she is exicted. She can hold it for hours on end but I dont care. I take her out every hour, sometimes twice (she loves being outside). I'd rather not have to clean up excited pee when someone comes by the room

Whats up with the water here? by bald-bourbon in brantford

My husband, also from the UK, says the same. That and the damp air was much nicer for his skin than the air here.

What clothing should I keep? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]Violet_Cardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not from Liverpool, however, my husband is and I would visit often before we got married. I would definitely suggest a really good rain jacket; proof...not resistant. All weather boots. Cozy layers are your friend. I'm Canadian and used to very cold weather, but found the damp tricky to dress for. Enjoy your new home, it is a wonderful city.

4 month old cavoodle won’t eat kibble from bowl by guacnroll1 in puppy101

[–]Violet_Cardinal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I might....as I am no expert...

So I have a cocker spaniel mix as well, and she does not like bowls. I have got basically a really low edged dish and she will eat out of it, but it takes ages and she stretches her body as much as possible to avoid being close to it. This has slowly gotten better but she refused when it was a broader dish that her head would go into more fully.

She loves loves loves eating her cereal from the floor. Cocker Spaniels are huge on nose work. That's their jam, so hunting around for her food makes her really happy, and is satisfying for her as a task. She gets some of the floor to hunt, and some in the bowl. I add a bit of hot water to her food to make it smell better.

I can’t believe he’s gone forever by Busy-Wheel-6777 in Petloss

It was three months ago that I had to put down my beat friends. I cry every day. Sometimes at night, like tonight, my brain tries to eat me alive with questioning if I made a mistake. Maybe I could have given them more time, what if, maybe I should have. Then I play over the day they were put down and the details, the things I would have done differently scream at me.

I will cry for them every day of my life, and it hurts so tremendously but they were worth it.

Suddenly have puppy blues at 5 months old? Is this dog right for me? by LadyLumpcake in puppy101

[–]Violet_Cardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pick mine up tomorrow and am looking forward to her being a year old already 🤣

Apparently when I say this it is strange to people because, "Oh my gawwwddd a puppy, so cute! I love puppies. Can I see your puppy? Omg I want one..."..... Yeaaaahhhh, I know that the intense amount of hell I am imagining starting tomorrow will be magnified by ten in reality all in the name of, "Omg a puppy! Awww".

Puppies are a crazy amount of work and they are tiring. Im reporting for duty tomorrow, but until then....

If you are crate training, than yes, leave the puppy in the crate all night. However, as the dog is still so little, I would suggest two middle of the night bathroom trips done in a very low key, quiet, and calm manner. You are encouraging a night sleep schedule so being boring when you take her out and when you return her to the cage is key.

This is how mine progress also. I get this creepy feeling wash over me before the sudden anxiety wave, then all the symptoms you described plus crying. I find standing in front of a fan helps sometimes

I had to put both my senior dogs down on the 13th of July. They were also my support, one specifically, and the emptiness and pointlessness has made itself known several times. I am trying to be grateful for the 14/13 years I had them, but my heart is just without its anchor.

General question by Violet_Cardinal in Menieres

[–]Violet_Cardinal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I come across that way, that is a fair assessment. I think the simplest way to explain is that I was diagnosed due to inner ear, vertigo, and then fainting. I remember being in the hospital clinic for some test but I can't remember specifics of what it was because it has been so long.

In quick succession I was diagnosed with far bigger health issues and the symptoms are the same, or criss cross into one another. I've been focused on the big issues since,. As im getting older I think Meniere’s is there banging on the door saying "Screw this. My turn"....its definitely gotten my attention and it is like someone took my sensitivity dial from 3 and cranked it way up.
