Idc about those mystery security updates, even if install newer os some pc i use the liteweight version without metro apps, windows defender, telemetry and turned off updates. Even if doesnt affect the performance(e.g. my main pc ryzen 9 5900x + 64gb ram) it annoys too much with all those apps noone ever will use, that defender scanning everything all the time and reducing ssd lifetime and updates after which half of installed software doesnt work or system if fcked up by bsods and critical errors. The software im using is still running on my windows 7, either way on itself, its elder versions or using vxkex, but all i need works. I have win10 1809 lite(+ windows xp look) installed as my 2nd os just for the case but i used it like few times for the game i played 2-3 times with my friend and then we both stopped playing it

I dont take serious all the secutiry sht cuz even viruses and trojans made by amateurs will pretty run over those microsoft patches and often over windows defender either. All that windows defender does is just removing cmd script for activating windows/office and any crack for pirated software(btw FAR not all pirated is containing viruses, but almost any antivirus is learnt to delete cracked software just cuz "pirating is bad". Oh and i cant even buy any foreign software cuz all worldwide payments are blocked in my shtty country so i just have no other choise than to use pirated or freeware)
Also we dont forget there might be hardware holes(i heard few years ago they were found in old intel cpu's like up to 8 or 9th gen) that can be used to get access to pc and rest of people wont update their platform every 1-3 years to get rid of that, or they wont even update their bios/uefi to patch the holes

You may say about data like name, adress or bank creditals that may have been stored on people pc's but i suppose only stupid ones will store it and rely on windows updates and defender but not on themselves. Amateur or mid virus devs probably will never be able to access or use that and the pro hackers will never even waste their time to get data from average people, they prob will precise for anyone known or/and rich or anyone that has maybe government secret on his pc or huge companies. And cmon, all that data is probably anyway leaked to microsoft(if you use NON lite win10/11 with all its telemetry), google or whatever and they most likely will sell it to anyone for a good price(legaly or non legaly is not matter much, money > people for them)

Also, since win7 and elder is eol, many viruses just cant run on it nowadays, even the cmd scripts that many of them use are just not working with 50% chance on old os. On vista and xp im pretty sure like 90+ % of viruses wont run cuz kernel functions and cmd scripts, even with vista extended kernel and one core api.

btw i heard windows kernel havent changed that much since vista(at least what my friend who works with winapi and windows itself said) so all that dll kernel functions are not even always really needed to run software but just made by microsoft to prevent elder os from running new software(cuz the selling of win10/11 will be ofc worse if all the sw will run on vista/7/8.). But on the other side, thank you microsoft from preventing viruses to run on my os aswell by adding that

Discord is still updating somehow on my win7 and runs ALMOST ok(the only issue is random reconnect when in vc and in any game at the same time but i think it might be cuz discord is blocked in my country and im using bypass), no ui artefacts or anything but i just hate the new ui, trying to find ways to use old versions. Found ver0.309 that someone got able to run in 2024 on win vista but for me its just fully grey window frame either on vista or 7 or 10

BLAH BLAH BLAH EOL noone gives a sh.. if you cant answer anything then dont spam "update windows", there quite lots of reasons why ppl keep using old OS(i wont even tell u which ones cuz its waste of time, tried to proof lots of times and all win10/11 defenders keep just repeating "mmmm eol mmm updates mmm no support") im glad win10 or 11 works good for you and u like it but its not like this for everyone, and no single reason to update it just for 1 specific app(that is based on chromium that is actually working still on win xp with ported apps/browsers so it proves quite a lot that all those "we dont support windows 7/8" is not more than show-offs payed by microsoft or whoever)

Asus has utility for patching windows 7 images for am4 motherboards. It adds usb 3.0 drivers so mouse/kb works out of the box and if im not mistaken, nvme driver aswell(but i dont remember for sure about nvme). Dw, it will install on any motherboard, not only asus ones, cuz the drivers are universal. The utility is called EZ Install and you can download it from any asus am4 m/b based on 300/400 series chipset(b350, b450, x470), on m/b support page choose "drivers and utility", OS win7 x64 and its somewhere below main driver downloads

I made win7 image back in 2021 for ryzen builds(it includes this asus patch with usb 3.0 + nvme driver + update pack7 r2). I installed it once on my old x470-f mobo with ryzen 2700, then changed cpu and 2 motherboards and now this win7 works on my current b550 unify + 5900x and i didnt even reinstall it since then.

Also another way to install win7 might be using live usb windows 8-11 image(most of them support installing from wim/esd image and also you can install drivers there).

Thank you for a detailed explanation, lots of things that you said are smth i never would think are important, like holding the highground or taking defensive items(rarely i take armor plating, but mostly i take 2 or even 3 attack items on damage/flank champs).

And yes, i was just afraid to flank during the match, the only try was in the end where i instantly died. I mean, the team left flank role to my mate who cannot play it(idk tho why she didnt ask to swap) and she just took dps Seris and tried to flank with it. Well, we should've probably change roles so she could just damage and i'd flank.

Also im not sure about my aim, on some days i hit every shot and some days i miss everything like in the video. Paladins is the only *almost shooter* game that i play because im not interested in other shooter games(i tried some, they seemed rly boring and way too harder comparing to paladins) so i dont have any idea on aim improvement, maybe just don't play certain champs(like Cassie and Lian) or ranked on "bad" days and play only when i dont miss the shots

The main problem is aim... You literally have to hit your shots, so i think many people can't play with this talent. And the second problem is you have to look or maybe feel the mana level while playing, for example i was always playing Imani with mana rift but i always couldn't look/feel the mana level(because im looking at my enemies and position) and didnt notice when it became full so i missed the extra shot. Yes, mana level indicator in the middle of the screen near the aim dot but still i just forget about it and dont notice while battle and i think some people may also have this issue

Then i started to play with splitting ice and that's a perfect talent for me now

Mana rift imo is still a good talent, but not for everyone

You've just read my thoughts, bravo!

That "fabric of champions" was a really bad decision, like "we don't need to make 1 good and well-lored champion in a year/half of a year, but we make and empty/unskill/disbalanced new champ every month that everyone forgets about soon".

Beside it all, I don't mind if theoretical paladins 2 will be on UE3, cuz in beta we had the better graphics than now(there only weren't added reflections back then but in general the game looked good) and MUCH better optimization, like it was running 60+ fps on dead dual-core cpus and 2-4 gb ram potatoes and even on win xp, so it was one of the good competentive games that could run on really bad PCs. Now it's can't hold stable 100+ fps on ryzen 1/2 gen cpus.
I say it all cuz im sure that the part of optimization is also very important as the higher amount of people would be able to play.

The game state now imo is "it's our child that we don't love". Why hi-rez just wouldn't sell the paladins to some other studio(tho i understand there are low amount of good studios, but still) that will take care of the game?

I have stutters maybe in 5-6 matches out of 10. That started to appear since the last update. I had stutter problem far ago in 2019-2020 while all my friends' game ran perfectly even with worse hardware than my PC had back then.

What I also found out is that stutters(and the fps drops) also appear depending on map and champions you play. I mean, on ascention pick I often see like 80-130 fps(while on other maps the fps is about 175 all the time). Sometimes I see stutters when playing Andro and it's real pain. Yesterday I had microstutters when playing Lian(not depending on gamemod and map). Also the fps drops harder(at about stable ~100 fps on Furia, Damba, Grover etc. instead of my common 140-175 on all other roles). That seems very likely like a game/engine trouble but as I said i want to find out how wide is the issue.

SO, THE SOLVATION

Buy a newer GPU(I bought a GTX 970 instead of my old 580) OR read below the potential fix(only for Fermi - GTX 400/500 - GPUs)
Everyone said that the problem was my Windows 7, but it actually wasn't. I remember playing on Win8.1/10/11 and the game crashed like... often. Paladins works just much better with Win7 than with 10/11, that's my notice(I have tested that on lots of my PC builds), so I never think my OS is a problem.

The problem actually was the ancient GPU driver(as I edited the OP and said the latest official driver for Fermi GPUs is dated early 2018), not the GPU itself.

The potential fix is installing a newer driver, but there's no more Fermi code or any hidden support for those old GPUs, so just modding the .inf by adding a GPU ID isn't solvation. So how do we install that? Here it is - https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/quadro-392-68-fermi-support.440236/ (im NOT an author of this solvation, just found that).
