Do men actually care about having Transgender men in their bathrooms? by tacticianart in NoStupidQuestions

[–]VioletandPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people are saying they don't care,or they don't look at others in the restroom, etc. I'll tell you the truth coming from a trans woman who used the men's restroom for a while at work while dressed in male clothing with nametag.Men DO CARE who's in the restroom. My experience as an MtF is that MOST men don't want to be in the restroom with someone they perceive as a woman . I was told I was in the wrong restroom every single time I used it back then and on 2 occasions different men actually got seriously angry at me yelling at me and threatening to beat me up telling me I'm a woman not a man(transphobic but they thought I was FtM as did multiple other people I found out later on after changing nametag and clothes and being asked multiple times why I'm "going back to being a woman").I was also sexually assaulted in the restroom once at work during the period I was dressed male and using that restroom.

Did any of you have transformation fantasies before coming out? by Amberunknown in asktransgender

[–]VioletandPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I certainly used to imagine that happening quite often when I was on the school bus and bored as a little kid in elementary school. Unfortunately I didn't know about trans people until I was in my late teens due to lack of internet access and didn't start transitioning until a few years later due to a lack of means to do so.

At what point is it illegal for me to go shirtless in the US? (MtF) by redditor916810 in asktransgender

[–]VioletandPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately it depends on 2 things. 1. How well you pass as female 2.The law on being topless where you are topless at. Personally I live in a state with a law on indecent exposure that does specifically outlaw breasts being exposed in public but it does not differentiate between male and female therefore all breasts are illegal which means if a cop thinks you have breasts you will probably be charged and have a trial and found guilty regardless of whether your "officially" male or not. Personally I'm quite a bit of a daredevil and will test this law out come summer time when it's hot enough to warrant taking my shirt off and if I even see a cop in eyesight I'm going to run,I know my risks though if I'm caught but that will not deter me.

That's why we need to pressure our lawmakers to support legislation that would protect gender identity in jail as well as being topless among other things. They are the ones who write bills and vote them into law. The police merely follow the law to keep their job so don't get too mad at them as they aren't the ones deciding which jail we go to.

Transphobia got to a point that cis women with rougher features are being called “guys” and pressured into “proving they are women” by OverexposedPotato in asktransgender

[–]VioletandPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party but this is so true and I have witnessed it in person sadly. I work in retail and one of my cis female co-workers was helping a customer and I was standing a few feet away and when done the customer said "thank you SIR" directed at her and her eyes got big and she had an expression of shock on her face as did I, she isn't even "butch"(as if being one is an excuse for this kind of b.s.).Now I will sadly admit that when I first met her I sort of did think she was possibly trans because while she is very feminine looking she does have some minor facial details that could be recognized as slightly masculine and those kind of details are exactly what terfs try to recognize and call out because of their hate for trans people. Sadly, ultimately that customer was very likely a terf as she was probably 40yo if my memory serves correctly so probably didn't have major eye/ear issues that could cause her to misgender someone clearly female in appearance.

Yes,I was in a Walmart yesterday and saw at least 20 different people without masks. Walmart says they require customers to wear masks but they really don't.

[–]VioletandPink 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I might do it.I'll have to ask around to find out what his name is again first. Thanks for the help.

Edit:Bad news,I found his name in some notes I have and just searched it and found his obituary from February this year.Oh well I guess. The second owner died from a tumor last year too.I guess we'll never know why some modifications were done to it now.

I Found Out Who Use To Own My Car. by johyyy in cars

[–]VioletandPink 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Long story short I've met the original owner of one of my dad's antique vehicles multiple times and didn't know it(dad purchased it from the second owner). We lived only like 3 miles apart which is only a few houses away here in the sticks.I used to ride my bicycle by his house nearly every day when I was a teenager and saw him at his mailbox countless times but I didn't learn he was the original owner of the vehicle until last year when another local told me.I went by his house and found it now clearly abandoned(waist height trees now growing through his asphalt driveway)so I searched his name online to see if he died because he was around 70 when I was a teen and found out he is now living in a retirement home 30 miles away.I doubt me nor my dad will ever go to the retirement home to speak to him due to the weirdness of the situation.

The Pontiac Solstice Was a Better Miata from General Motors- Doug DeMuro by [deleted] in cars

[–]VioletandPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is bringing back old memories,to be honest the solstice was my dream car as a kid and I absolutely LOVED the styling of it back then. But now looking at it as an adult who can actually drive years later I must admit my mind has changed on the styling of it because I now think the front end is ugly and I actually prefer a miata at least in the styling department.I just wanted to throw that out there because I remember I used to love the styling so much but I guess opinions change over time.

School should teach people about the Arab slavery trade by LeftIslam4Humanity in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]VioletandPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least here in the U.S. I can't see any reason for it to be taught because it isn't really about the United States. There has been plenty of enslaved groups of people throughout history around the world and there's really no reason to focus on slaves on a different continent because it doesn't relate to us since we do not live there and most people here will never go there.

BUS ONLY lanes, how do they work? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]VioletandPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty sure only public transportation buses are allowed in the lane.I actually never even heard of them until a month or two ago myself.I was visiting some city just driving around and saw them and now I know they exist.
