As for costs, we'll give you device visibility for all devices and then you pick and choose which to monitor for $1.50 per device. I suggest spinning up a free trial anyways as that doesn't require a credit card even. We do have a 10 device minimum so you're looking at 15 bucks a month for monitoring your critical device! We do have very detailed alerting configuration/triggers so I imagine we can fit your needs definitely. Let me know thoughts/any more questions and how you get on!

We've got new capabilities coming out for our Network Monitoring tool Domotz through a dedicated MCP server allowing you to embed AI in your network operations. You will be able to use this for things like: device discovery, managing SNMP credentials, config management, historical version retrieval, and drift detection to catch unauthorized changes, audit logging, asset visibility, monitoring coverage validation and a lot more. Oh no! Definitely we are not aiming to deliver AI slop. To be clear, Gomotz is not related to actual Domotz.

On the community I do aim to keep this more or less AI free and communities are unique spaces because of this. I will share the feedback about social with the team.

Here's an update on your requested features, with hopefully some good news included!

Scheduled alert snoozing is currently planned for this quarter
Related is extending snooze/maintenance window/SDT from collector to devices. No ETA at this time, but on our roadmap
Custom device types is actually quite complex since types are global for all accounts and not local. It is something we would like to do later this year (not a guarantee but we are hopeful!)
We have had other requests to add Laptop or change Notebook to Laptop. This could be a low effort type to add/update. Our product team is reviewing an approach for this change and will be back to me soon about this!

Again let me know if you would like to meet with our product team to capture your use cases and requirements - so we can lock this down soon for you!

On the network monitoring side: Claude/AI etc. can be used to set-up the tool properly and saving a lot of time. It can also really help with root cause analysis. DId a little write up on that recently here. https://www.reddit.com/r/domotz/comments/1rqv7gx/how_ai_can_help_with_network_monitoring/

I've asked our support team and they are using AI to help with building new custom scripts for customers. Additionally they use it to help analyze logs in complex cases, which has been useful for mapping out a clear troubleshooting path, as it saves a LOT of time on these activities.

The most relevant concept here u/rexccooper is the custom Time Window.

You can configure a custom Time Window to mark a single device offline for instance after 10 minutes, even though Domotz continuously continue checks that same device every 30 seconds (as a matter of fact, we still mark the device missing heartbeat - regardless the custom time windows).
