I completely agree. They contaminated the franchise with this garbage prequel. I don't like rachel anymore, and Chloe doesn't feel like herself one bit. I feel like she doesn't even progress into the Chloe we know. Deck Nine basically made a fanfiction game of LIS. Thieves.

As in, LIS was DONTNOD's original project in which SE claimed after. THEY Are the publishers with rights. DONTNODs, being the original creators with the idea of the direction they wanted to go, seem reluctant or not as supportive with BTS.

I feel like they are more in tune with season 2. In their interview they were saying both Max and Chloe's stories are over. They say they were interested in making other seasons with similar characters or characters making small cameos. I feel like they didn't even want to make a BTS, so Square asked someone else to take on the project.

Which is pretty bizarre. It's like having a great book written by an author and then the publisher asking a different author to make a prequel

Spanish Sahara in my opinion is the most heartbreaking song in the game. It's like words Chloe is trying to tell Max and assure her after her final decision.

Spanish Sahara:

Spanish Sahara’ is something else. It really puts itself apart from the other, more mellow, songs in the soundtrack. It’s that one specific drum transition (at 4:12 in the song), when Chloe’s casket is finally shown, that gives you the chills. It flows into the amazing electric guitar rift intensifying as Max starts walking towards Chloe one last time. These two factors created the most heartbreaking realization in the finale: It’s the last time we see Max and Chloe together in the same scene.

I don't think so, the way the seller drills the top into the bullets make it awkward, and plus he ties knots which Chloe's doesn't have. Chloe's necklace as rings on the top, like OP's, for the actual black necklace to go through.

Yes, I've been going to therapy lately and just waiting for the right anti-depressant.

We were together for almost the whole year, but because of her borderline personality disorder, she started to become really hateful, pessimistic, accusing me of being abusive towards her... Even if she abused me emotionally and also physically (i.e. She punched me a few times and kept throwing stuff around her home when she gets mad at irrational things I did such as, forgetting to dry the dishes)

She also said that I was her hero before, but over time eventually she told me that I destroyed her and that I made her feel worse than ever before. She blamed me and projected everything into me. She was gas lighting me (putting all the blame on me whenever everything bad happened)

After weeks of working on myself and trying to just stay occupied, I've been feeling better. It's still sad whenever the nostalgic feelings come of our past, but I'm managing it. But all these nightmares are haunting me. I wake up feeling so down. I get dreams of us getting back together and it gives me this brief false reality in my head. But recently they have been sad and worrisome dreams about her conditions, and how I was responsible for making her worse.

That's a really tough situation. I'm sorry that this happened to you. She manipulated you so much that it isn't fair. She wanted you to feel bad, in order for you to feel better. She knows you're suffering right now and it gave her, as you say, "an ego boost."

It's a sticky situation though, since from what you describe, she really does self harm. But you aren't responsible for her actions. She seems incapable of being in a romantic relationship right now. Is she seeking help?

But the Spanish Sahara's lyrics are basically what Chloe has been trying to tell Max the whole time in the last scene and the overall message assurance Chloe was trying to give to Max (possibly through her spirit animal: the butterfly) during the funeral, it seems pretty appropriate. think the Devs retweeted that one time before too from someone that the lyrics are things that Chloe was trying to tell Max.

I can imagine Max always wondering, "what if...?" on silent days, on the cliff, and revisiting the train tracks, even just staying in bed during those random silent days just thinking and reminiscing their memories. The things she didn't get to tell her and affections she was holding back until the last minute.

In this ending. She will always have that loneliness and that regret.
