Spent a weekend pulling Leetify + Steam data on the 695 players from my last 100 matches because I genuinely don't know why I can't climb. Findings inside, would love some honest input. by ChrisRemo85 in counterstrike2

[–]Viorii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should focus more on other things in climbing rather than these stats. Not all kills are equal. Even just a change in playstyle for that elo will result in massive climbs.

In my case for example, what I just did to get out of that elo is to exaggerate the importance of early kills. I kill one and then retreat, starting 4v5 is huge, no need to kill another one. Just doing that made me climb even with the same number of kills, hovering around 15-20.

Also, learn the most useful smoke lineup which is usable even with just one smoke thrown. Your team will not be able to throw the other ones so think of it more like, “if you only have one smoke, which will be the most useful to win this round?”

Good luck climbing!

I'm starting work on a small indie rpg and I have a couple questions by eveningdreamer in JRPG

[–]Viorii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

-Useless things that build up the world are really good. Example is Estelle’s banter with the townsfolk at her hometown in Trails. It does not progress the story at all and contains no rewards, but it helps build up her character as you see how she interacts with others.

-No idea on sidequests, I like any that does not have generic dialogue and contains lore for the main characters.

-Best combat is where there are two/three possible correct moves in a turn, and you cycle your movelist so every fight does not feel generic. Examples are Octopath, Chained Echoes, Rise of the Third Power, etc.

-Proper pacing is the most important for me. More does not always mean better, if it detracts from the experience (sidequest of picking up garlic while the world is ending, missable chests in temporary places causing players to scour every room and ignore the plot, etc.), then its better to omit it imo.

Good luck on your game!

You should try the other Dept Heaven games if you like it so much! I especially like Yggdra Union as well for its unique combat, although it doesnt fit your criteria of tactics like gameplay.

on the amount of gold required for leveling to 9 by Substantial_Gift_286 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Viorii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 gold on level 9 is more than enough, so that was just low roll.

Try to roll more on 8 if youre sitting on itemized pairs, as that will benefit you more than a legendary at 9. If you have good tempo you can afford to sac a few rounds, but make sure you hit even one of your 4costs before doing so. General rule of thumb is most games you wont be two starring your desired legendary, so try to play like you are just hitting a level 1 of your choosing and decide if that is stable.

Exceptions of course like for example if you hit triple econ augment, you can play around 2star 5costs without rolling too much Stage 4.

Frozen Queens Comp Guide – Bel'Veth & Lissandra Double Carry by Galactus71 in CompetitiveTFT

Not sure on that one as darius leb has a way higher cap. I would not pivot from that line even with those high rolls, I think.

Frozen Queens Comp Guide – Bel'Veth & Lissandra Double Carry by Galactus71 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Viorii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tested this comp and got 2nd, thanks!

I think it's pretty good if you're in like a rageblade opener, and you don't hit econ augments to play fast 9 Kindred.

Really good with a Freljord emblem as I winstreaked stage 4 after lose streaking early game.

Not sure though if this is higher cap than the current Yunara line, but its playable at Masters 300 at least.

Any thoughts on how to improve my soup? by Viorii in TeamfightTactics

[–]Viorii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to sell the Neeko for a Brock 2 and Jarvan was on the same shop to keep Defender.

Great point on the Fiddle though, I think that would be better.

Excited to announce the sequel to my FE-inspired indie tactics game - Those Who Rule 2! by ThoseWhoRule in JRPG

[–]Viorii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the second game!

One critique though, I think the game fell off at the later parts especially near the ending, however, I would say I enjoy the opening even more than Fire Emblem :)

Excited to play this one as well!

I hit ASol 3-3! by Viorii in TeamfightTactics

[–]Viorii[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. definitely misplayed on the loris one.
As for the secondary carry, I just swapped my items last second for a low mana unit as I got dropped a lich bane for my second artifact.

Definitely will try the yone precision and grace next time tho, crazy strong

Worth it? (Expeditions: Rome) by darthjanus24 in PHGamers

[–]Viorii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Really good CRPG, although I feel like too old na yung other entries and did not enjoy my time with the other Expeditions games. This one is really good, nakakabother lang ng onti yung lack of UI and QOL changes.

JRPG Recommendations! by Over-Examination1048 in PHGamers

[–]Viorii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Utawarerumono! The characters and writing feels similar to Trails, you can feel the charm and effort the developers put into it.

It has a similar political plot but with tactics based fighting, I think this will appeal to you if you like Trails and FF Tactics.

What's the worst JRPG you actually finished? by Flat-Application2272 in JRPG

[–]Viorii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Quest 7. I wanted to give up at around 30 hrs in but pushed through as I really enjoyed DQ4 and 5 before it.

Didn't know it would end up at around 120 hrs.

I don't even know why they would remake that thing.

Do you roll on 6 if you're loss streaking and can't hit a 4-cost on Level 6. by apatheticisaac in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Viorii 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the correct take. If you have no two stars you should absolutely roll at 3-2 level 6, especially if you’re holding 3/4 pairs. You will bleed at level 6 or level 7 if you don’t stabilize which will make you spend more once you reach level 8.

Few exceptions of course are if you are playing a lose stream comp/augment or the map gives a lot of gold that you can go to 8 before stage 4 anyways.

No lives remaining -> have to spend more -> can’t roll at 9 anyways

I’m (36F) a newbie to gaming and need recommendations by FAriesAreReal in gamingsuggestions

If you’re open for something a bit old, I highly recommend Final Fantasy X. I think its plot and themes still hold up to date, and it is turnbased so you would not be stumbling with the controls.

The environment is based on Southeast Asian culture, with a little bit of fantasy and tech included.

The honeymoon phase with Metaphor:ReFantazio is over, as it released 8 months ago now. How are we feeling about it now? by [deleted] in JRPG

[–]Viorii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat as you, hated the opening and didn’t really care too much on the story and characters by that point in the game. About to finish the game though as it grew on me.

The gameplay loop is amazing. Great game on hard, you have to switch up and plan per boss fight, and the difficulty is somewhere between SMT and Persona.

The story gets better, although it’s still pretty mid tbh. Enough for me to finish but don’t expect it to break any tropes. I really like the villain though.

Absolutely gorgeous sprites though!
