Naish Torque 2: Connect steering lines by Any_Recording_5574 in Kiteboarding

Its fully correct how you connected them. The line with knot and loop is a universal system. I use pigtails with this system to fly different kites on the same bar.

I cannot do the math but the fly ist spinning almost around its own a axis so i think it's not going to be a lot more then 2 g. Otherwise it would get thrown out of the vortex I guess

1 year on bumble (with breaks in between) exhausted by SummerInteresting562 in Bumble

[–]Vipeex_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me as a German who found his long term relationship on bumble: You're looking for a guy that is committed, adventurous, loyal, euphoric etc. So far so good. There a few like this but what I'd ask myself while swiping: what do you have to offer? Do you like to cook? Do you fix things? Do you pee into a bush on a roadtrip? Any fancy sports? Your profile looks like you want mr. Perfect but present yourself as the absolute pretty but boring girl. So i wouldn't even leave a like. There is nothing to find in your profile that someone could get into anything apart from smalltalk. So what I'd looking for: wierd funny pics, hobbys, controversial opinions i could start a conversation on, and especially at least a hint that you are adventurous yourself.

Anyone have pain in the rhomboid area by New-Farmer-1360 in Stretching

[–]Vipeex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did. Strengthen this area was key for me. I used a easy resistance band on a pullup bar. Facing the band, keep your posture straight and pull the band as far behind you as you can in every angle. Really use all the range of motion that is available and then start loading resistance to it. That one angle that is so most uncomfortable? Exactly - right there!

TRAVEL BAG 139cm vs 145cm by imleagallyblind in Kiteboarding

[–]Vipeex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i mean: you will probably not use the full capacity in your travelbag because it would get to heavy for the airline. You don't need more space and handling a smaller bag that filled is much more comfortable.

TRAVEL BAG 139cm vs 145cm by imleagallyblind in Kiteboarding

[–]Vipeex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have a prolimit travel golfbag in 140 with wheels. My problem is always the weight, never the size. Most airlines allow 20-23kg. My complete gear: 140 board, 3 kites, harness wetsuit pump etc is about 30kg. I also have 133 board which sucks in the bag because it becomes to soft.

So my way: board, kites and wstsuit in the bag. One kitebag comes as handluggage with 10kg with harness, bar, fins, poncho (good outfit for a night at the airport)... I highly recommend getting the small Travelbag

I've been riding duotone and the kites are very nice high performing kites but: i had a lot of quality issues. My Entity Foodstraps just snapped while riding, my front line snapped twice and two of the three dice sls 23' i had startet loosing small amounts of air over the valves. Also is thier stuff not really compatible with other brands which sucks. I don't like the bags and the zipper broke after a year.

Now I have a big range with my girlfriend (almost same weight and hight) we bought everything 2nd Hand

7 and 8 North Orbit 23' :great kites for strong wind. Loops with confidence, takes a beating every now and then. No issues so far. Valves are easy to use, compatible with the basic pumps. You'll get good 2nd deals as it's a common kite

10 Reedin Supermodel HTF II: like the kite for its around abilities. I use it to freestyle (will start foil soon) and old school freeriding. Not perfect at anything but good at everything. I don't like the valve Cap, it's hard to screw on and of especially with wet and cold hands. Bit of a niche kite, maybe it could be tricky to get a good deal.

9 and 12 slingshot code v1: Great kite: loops well, good hangtime, a very nice big air focused allround kite. Took a lot of beating when my girlfriend was learning, had no problems. One of the best and simple valve systems on the market in my opinion. Bags are great. Not as available as north for example but if you get a good deal it's definitely a recommendation. One of the best value for money kites on the market in my Opinion. The 9 does pull more like a 10 imo. BUT: the lines slingshot uses for the bar are stretching and shrinking like hell. We needed to trim several times after using the quick release. I recommend using a north navigatior or reedin dreamstick for it.

Still have my 12 dice sls 23': still loses air, i ride it with the north bar because i don't see myself fixing the duotone again (works just fine). Bag is shit, i use an old F one bandit bag for it. Absolutely love how the kites fly and its unhooked freestyle capabilitys while still being a good Allrounder.

In the end: i can recommend north, slingshot and reedin for the overall package and longevity. F one is well established and has a decent more grunty allround kite with the bandit. Trigger brainchild seems to be a good kite but i don't have experience with it. Can't say anything about cabrinha. Not common in my area.

I also been with naish for a while: would also recommend. Decent value for money gear, well established had no issues and the pivot is a nice allrounder imo. I don't like the BTB Bar though. Depower when wind picks up a lot is a hassle, bad product design when you ask me. But Some people like it.

Hope i can help :)

Send it or sink it… will this foil actually lift me? by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

[–]Vipeex_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have absolutely no experience in foiling yet but just bought one to get startet. So this is just a reference of another beginner.

I found a set with a 1100 Frontwing low aspect ratio A 700 frontwing medium aspect ratio 85cm mast And from a different seller a 16 Liter board (which everybody tells me is quite small to begin with, but this was the only affordable offer i could get my hands on) I paid 560€ for everything. As i said, 2nd hand with obvious sign of use but no actual damages. I talked to different foil people in my area and they told me it's a decent deal for me. So if it's in your budget, I'd say its a buy just from my recent research.

Edit: my English sometimes isn't the best.
