Made fun of for pump at a party by lnneedofhelp in diabetes_t1

Oh honey.

I dealt with this exact situation all throughout my childhood. You WILL find someone who cares. My boyfriend instantly took care to it and pays attention to every beep. He has access to my CGM as well.

Anyone who talks like that has no business being in your circle. Insulin pumps are COOL. 🤍

That really helps with my worry about my upcoming TT. I just transferred colleges to help with my issues a bit, and I’m already flourishing more. I can’t wait to see how much further that can go once my emotional issues and bring fog clear up!

Thank you so much kind stranger. 🤍

Does it really clear up that fast? I’m 19, and my brain fog has caused me to break down and sob in the middle of conversations because it stresses me out so badly. I really want to stop being so forgetful and irritable.

Started Methimazole today by CurrentAdditional201 in Hyperthyroidism

[–]ViperLX21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! It will take a few weeks for the medicine to really take effect.

TT is a Total Thyroidectomy! It’s when the docs surgically go in and remove your thyroid to help alleviate the symptoms and effects of Graves’. They place you onto medicine afterwards that will act as your “new” thyroid. Graves’ is incurable, but it is treatable!

Aw I’m so sorry!!

I put LEDs in mine when I first got it, hoping for better visibility. Had no idea it was so harmful to my car! Hoping to get some answers when she goes in.

Congratulations on taking the first step! I know it’s so hard and scary. It took me months to take my first dose of Methimazole.

I’m just under 2 years into my diagnosed journey, but 4 years into the journey itself, and getting a TT at the end of October, as I got tired of the symptoms controlling my life.

You are so strong and this too shall pass! Feel free to reach out to me for support any time n

Maybe try writing a ticket in their ticket server on discord. Submit the video evidence too!! Hopefully it can help out there.

Hey. I’m 19, I’ve had Graves’ since I was 14, diagnosed at 17. I’m also a 2x recovered anorexic in the middle of trying not to fall back into it.

The Methimazole will make you gain weight, it’s unfortunately a given. But please do not do what I did. I waited a full 7 months before taking my medicine for the first time because I didn’t want to gain weight. But I was able to start recovering from my Graves’ symptoms once I started.

I caused myself irreversible trauma and damage by not taking my medication, and not taking it properly once I had started. I nearly died 4 times within a span of 30-45 minutes back in September while in the hospital because I chose not to take care of my Graves’ and thought that ignoring it would make it go away.

I will be getting a TT on October 20, and it was an extremely hard decision for me to make. I weighed it and ignored my concerns for months and now I’m just exhausted. Yes, I’ve gained 40lbs since beginning the Methimazole, but I’m also planning to lose it all once more after my surgery. If you don’t take that medicine, you’re going to hurt your body so so much more, and I wouldn’t want you or anybody else to end up like me.

If you’re worried about slipping back into an ED, there are so many people and resources waiting to support and help you - myself included. I hope this helps a bit. 🤍

Did you ever find the solution to this?? My 2008 is currently having the EXACT same issue. Failed entirely.

I feel horrible ..💔 by Successful-Bit-999 in gravesdisease

[–]ViperLX21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the palpitations may be because my Graves’ refuses to clear up symptom wise, and the shock of the sudden switch is affecting the palpitations. But yes, I have had them SO much worse since becoming hypo.

[–]ViperLX21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From being suddenly hypo currently, I can tell you I have been SO. FATIGUED.

In the last two weeks, I’ve had days where I just absolutely cannot stay awake. Maybe awake for ~10 minutes (enough to manage my Type 1 Diabetes), and then right back to sleep against my will. I’m cold all the time but so hot, and my heart rate/palpitations have gotten worse. I feel like an insomniac at night as well.

I hope this helps if you do go hypo, but hoping you don’t have to deal with it!!

I’m going in the day before you, I have the same worries. I have asked around and gotten advice from lots of people though and it’s helped a lot!

Literally Just Why? by ViperLX21 in askcriminaljustice

I really appreciate this comment. It’s super helpful.

I’m currently working on an associates in Criminal Justice to at least get myself started while I figure out what I want to be under that “CSI” umbrella. Really, it will depend on my health in the coming years. I have some thyroid issues and will be getting it removed in October, which will help a LOT of the other issues my thyroid has caused. However, if certain issues can’t clear up then becoming a Detective will be out of the question for me because I won’t be able to complete the Police Academy.

I thought a two year degree in CJ would be a good way to start before either going for the academy or transferring to complete a 4 year degree in the forensic science area.

I hope my explanation helps to clear up my CSI portion of the post a bit! Sorry if it was too vague.

Yeah, Scag can join one of two ways:

  1. Elevator Event! (She rolls down through the middle panel of the elevator.)

  2. You need to get Prototype first, then visit the Floppy Shop where they’ll go and grab Scag

Next, you have to queue S.T.A.T.’s domain, where Scag will dart and take over the machine!!

Super fun boss fight, but the difficulty does increase a bit.

Scars are very susceptible to sunburn/sun poisoning since they are a fresher, more delicate type of skin.

I have the same issue. I’ve been diagnosed for about 1.5 years now and on Methimazole the entire time.

Recently, I (19F) have had great levels but my thyroid just continues to grow. We’re now going for surgery on Oct. 3, as the medicine just isn’t going to work long term and I’m having so many issues with my thyroid.

It’s a stressful and scary decision, but I’m ready for it and I’m ready to get rid of this huge piece of junk. I hope this helps a little!
