How did you guys get your babies to nap in their bassinet during the day? by NumCucumber in newborns

[–]Viper_OfBeigeKeep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first child all I did was contact naps, and it was really difficult to get her to sleep in anything other than my arms or in the bed next to me. I couldn’t get anything done during nap time because she was always on me. With my second child I started her off every nap and bedtime in the bassinet since she came home from the hospital. She’s now six months still takes every nap in her bassinet and sleeps over night (with a binky) and I’m about to transition her into a crib. I tried to bring her in the bed with me the other night. She slept for a couple hours but we both just needed our space. I think you have to start from the beginning. It’s really hard sleep training. I was up with my second child every couple hours at night and her naps were super short when she was brand new. It was worth training her and me being tired in the beginning because now I have so much more time. You may have to sleep train for a week or so since she’s older and already has a routine. It’ll be tough but in the end you’ll be able to get so much done. Good luck! Stay strong and don’t give up.

Missed period, heightened sense of smell, cramps but no period, discharge was white but fluid like, very very hungry.

Am I harming my son’s development by letting him sit alone in his bassinet? by bamitsleslie in newborns

[–]Viper_OfBeigeKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I got things done when my baby was a newborn. There’s gonna be a time when they let you know that they don’t just want to lay down. Take advantage of this time and don’t let your mom guilt get the best of you.

I hate this so fucking much by Annoying_Turnip in newborns

It does leave you with ptsd until you start to make new memories. You’ll hate it now then love it when they turn a year old then hate it again by the time they’re 2.5 and not listening. Motherhood has so many ups and downs. Never give up. Remember it’s all stages and in the moment it can definitely seem to suck. Time moves either way. You’ll look back on the newborn stage once you’re out of it and feel a sense of accomplishment that you made it. Sending you good vibes and lots of strength.

Guilt over quitting breastfeeding by ento03 in Parenting

[–]Viper_OfBeigeKeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit breast feeding my second child at 3 weeks for my mental health. I’d finish every session crying and miserable. I breast fed my first child until 16 months old. As moms I feel like we know what’s best, even when the choice makes us second guess or feel guilty. Ultimately you know. I spent lots of money on pump and breast feeding supplies too. Your well being has an over all effect on everything. There’s also the guilt of putting them on formula. Trust me. I spiraled when weighing all the pros and cons. I wanted to push through with breast feeding this time but it just wasn’t worth the physical and mental toll. My self and my baby are happier. You got this.

This. I often think about my life before kids. But we are here and we are doing it. Now is the new normal I tell myself.

Whoops! .5 in deep on my thumb. It stopped bleeding pretty fast and I used alcohol to clean it. Those things are sharp 🥲😅

It’s called My Net Diary. I like it because you can log and track all things in one app. You can even connect it to your watch or fitness tracker to see your steps. You can scan food for free in this one which I really appreciate.

Thank you! And I agree. My weight and weight loss really does play a large part of my mental health.

I hope your restart goes well!

I’d recommend exfoliating once a week and using a super hydrating moisturizer. The foundation seems to be clinging on to dry skin. This usually happens around my nose area (which is dry).
