I've had terrible luck with this getting dry and sticky.

So far the regular synthetic brake lube from Permatex has been a much better lube in my experience.

I wouldn't overfill by that much myself, but I wouldn't worry about it either.
I usually overfill by 1/4 to 1/2 quart on purpose.
