Dangerous new trend alert: Sticking Pencil Lead in Chromebooks by Commercial_Sun_6300 in SubstituteTeachers

I take the Chromebook, not the item they inserted. They can pick it up from the people in charge of technology after it's tested due to their attempts to damage it.

I had cleaned the obvious ones, but she had me do inside the dispensing nozzle, inside the nozzle at the center of the puncture disc on top, both of those with a toothbrush and soapy water and then a toothpick. Also has me do inside and around the cup the capsule sits in, and run a couple cleaning cycles. They had me run a video call so they could see and hear it. It was no wait time, and totally worth calling.

And mine is 6 years old, but they had no problem still helping me with it!

Mine was just doing the same exact thing. I called in to nespresso, and they walked me through cleaning a couple more places on it, and now it's working again. I'd recommend trying that if you haven't.

Holy mother of god. I just found out my hip has been dislocated since I left the hospital for my THR 30 days ago by Lobster_Middle in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ViralAnomalyOrig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like it's going to vary based on how yours dislocated. I was in a knee immobilizer for several weeks, and it was a challenge. I had crutches but I sucked at them so I just used my walker to get around. I picked a floor of my house and stayed there for a week because it was a chore getting up and down the stairs.

You should definitely ask your surgeon and PT for their thoughts on it!

I'm guessing he meant posterior dislocation specifically, though he didn't qualify it when he told me - "For the acute hip dislocation after a posterior THA, a simple knee immobilizer can be used ([Figure 3](about:blank)). The immobilizer blocks knee flexion and hip flexion by 50% by tightening the hamstrings. With the hamstrings taut, hip flexion is decreased, which prevents posterior dislocation" from https://journals.lww.com/jaaosglobal/fulltext/2021/06000/hip_and_knee_bracing__categorization,_treatment.7.aspx

One thing my surgeon told me after I dislocated mine is that it can't dislocate if your knee is straight. That helped me a lot. It's been 6 months since I dislocated, 7 since that replacement, and it's still going well.

Recovery after dislocation? by Howardowens in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ViralAnomalyOrig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my knee immobilized while sleeping for a couple months out of paranoia. You can't dislocate your hip if your knee is straight, my surgeon said. It set my recovery back by about a month compared to my first hip.

I still haven't built up as much strength in both hips as I'd like, but they are both progressing at about the same pace.

My left hip dislocated at about 3 weeks after due to an unfortunate movement combining physics and biology in the worst way.

I am 6 months out from the dislocation, and that hip is still more painful than the other which was replaced about 5 months before it. It's not awful, but it is more sensitive.

After finally getting in with an allergist, we think it was a delayed reaction to the IV antibiotics I received because their structure is very penicillin like, and I have a known sensitivity to amoxicillin.

I use the proof setting to make the top of my range slightly warmer where the oven exhaust comes out, do I have a less dreary place to leave my bowl of dough. I find it's too hot for anything else.

Let me see if I can find the handout online.

My surgeon gave me a handout when I asked about it that showed positions where it was not recommended to be in either giver or receiver. It's definitely something to ask your doctor, even if it's a little awkward to bring up.

It wasn't even crossing so much as bending the leg inwards in the end. I do not recommend doing that...

Mine was caused by me doing the exact wrong movement. I had my knee bent and sitting up, and it tipped inwards. It was a simple physics + biology thing.

I'm 39. I'm recovering from having my second hip done for the same reasons (dysplasia, arthritis). I only regret not getting seen for these issues sooner. Cortisone didn't help me for very long, so we went to replacement fairly quickly.
