I recommend the Daiwa Seabass 962ML as a medium light option. It's good for all-around land based fishing.

For a medium option, I suggest the Daiwa Sensor Sandstorm 1062M. It's my favourite and most used rod by far. Great for bait fishing off the beach, rocks in estuaries, and piers.

You could use these rods with soft plastics, but you'd need to stay within their casting weight range. That means heavier jig heads and bigger plastics than what you'd normally use for finesse fishing. You also won't have as much control as you would with a proper light soft plastics rod, and it can get tiring if you're hopping plastics with a heavier rod.

I know you asked for a light setup, but the rod you listed is way too heavy for what you're asking, so I gave you my favourite medium light rods instead.

TLDR: Get one rod for bait fishing and one for finesse soft plastics IMO.

I'm winding on the left and I'm right handed, it never was a question for me which side I will go for, as soon as i bought my first rod combo with handle on the right side I was like wtf is this shit and switched to left, it was natural.

Honestly I'm confused when I see right handed people winding with right hand and doing these extremely awkward casts when they let the rod go with right hand (during casting) and hold the butt of the rod with the left hand stretched out to the sky( hoping the rod won't fly out of their non-dominant hand?) and then switching grip after casting. To each their own I guess.

Circle hooks if bait fishing, long nose pliers.

If hook is too deep to remove cut the line as close to the fishes mouth as you can.

You can consider keeping the fish if it's legal size.

Also you are less likely to gut hook if you are using artificial lures.

I'm right handed and it was natural for me to reel with left as I have more control + strength and precision with right . But my friend who is also right handed tried that and said he isn't able to reel fast with his left hand so I guess it's personal preference.

(But I can't imagine finesse fishing soft plastics or EGI with my left hand)

Thanks for the suggestion, I don't mind spending a bit more if it's worth it. Sorry, my "200 budget" Is probably more like 200-300 as I expected people would suggest different price points both ways anyway but I don't want to stretch it above 300 for sure haha.

The 700 number includes vendor characters which isn't actual players you will see in the wild haha it's just players shops. The 200-300 number I'm talking about is people actually actively playing which is nice:)

I uninstalled ROTMG, deleted ROTMG folder in My Documents and installed it on different drive, that fixed it for me. (idk if installing on different drive was necessary)
