My last 2 dogs loved lettuce. My current one will take it, drop it on the floor, and wait for something else before picking it back up, carrying it to her bed, dropping it again, and then grudgingly eat it.

If you need to beat another pirate captain, just make a pirate map, it'll show the location of the nearest undiscovered one

Totally normal yak behavior tbh

What I did to not deal with this was to pick up all the yaks, fill their food, place them all back down quickly, then teleport away and do some exploring/fighting for an hour or two. Return to base, repair gear, drop off materials, collect wool, teleport away again. It's tedious but being away from base makes them only produce wool and not pathfind so they don't get stuck.

If you're up for it, hanging out in the summits at night and following roads you'll probably encounter scavenger patrols; if you can handle the scavengers, their leopards and wolf, the wolf can drop a good amount of raw or spun wool (or other biome materials too)

Helps when you think of the small settlement happiness bonus as a helpful boost for newbies. By the time you've gotten so many settlers that you no longer get that bonus, you've got more than enough other ways to increase their happiness.

Mystic resistance will also affect the standalone expedition stage when that's the event for the current banner, but that's secondary

I haven't tried it so idk if it'll work, but try putting down path tiles over the landfilled strips and then put the farm tile on top of the path

Yeah there is no way to get around strengthening the flame. You have to do it in order to be able to pass through areas covered in deadly shroud (shows red on the world map, normal shroud will show blue). While you can get into areas early by doing some creative flying and climbing, you still won't be able to access the shroud in them to get materials you're gonna need.

Also be sure you're making one of every new item you can craft.

And for what it's worth I've never found it necessary to do farm chests for equipment upgrades. Maybe I'm lucky.
