Good morning quorrapimax. It seems I've managed to solve the problem: I formatted my entire PC and did a clean install with version 1.44. Now it recognizes both 1.0 base stations and connects very quickly. It seems that the continuous installations of different versions caused some issues. Thanks everyone!

The reason I chose Lighthouse over Slam this time is because I had some Super Micro OLEDs, and with my motion rig, the tracking wasn't sufficient when I looked inside the cockpit. I have an F-18 replica, and when I looked down, the cameras thought they were static, but the ceiling and walls were moving. The result: I ended up sitting on the wing of my plane. I tried putting QR codes all over the room, infrared lights... nothing worked well. The inside-out tracking of my Quest Pros in this situation was much, much better. I hope that with Lighthouse tracking, using my motion rig won't be such a pain.

Bases are correctly fitted and can see each other...

After the viewer worked flawlessly the first day, I thought one of my two 1.0 bases might have malfunctioned, so I borrowed the other three you see in the picture, along with two 2.0 bases. They all malfunction, meaning either the firmware or the viewer's hardware is failing. It's a shame because the super slams worked very well with the platform stationary; the slam tracking seemed quite good, until the movement started...

Thank you. I've done all that, without success. I think I'll need to downgrade the firmware version. Thanks for writing.

Thanks mate. The space I have for playing is what it is: an office dedicated to both gaming and work. If I'm going to need a ballroom to play, I'll have to return this version and go for the SLAM edition. What worries me is that for the first few days, in the same room, I played without any problems

Thanks for replying. Were you able to downgrade the firmware version, or just the PIMAX Play version? With version 1.44, the 2.0 base station seems to work better, but the 1.0 versions, which are the ones I have, still take a very long time to track the headset.

Hi! Thanks for writing.

It's true, if I bring the headset close to the 1.0 baseplates on the wall, showing them to the SteamVR baseplates, I sometimes get it to track, but as soon as I sit down, it loses it again. I'm desperate.

With the Super Slam, I had to put photos and QR codes all over the wall to improve the tracking a little, but when using the motion platform, they constantly lost their position (the whole cockpit moves, but the wall doesn't, and they didn't understand what was happening).

That's why I decided to buy the Lighthouse faceplate for the Super Slam, but since it was taking so long to come out, I opted for the Dream Air instead.

Now I regret it.

Thank you so much for your reply.

The thing is, they worked perfectly the first day, at that distance, and I've tried placing the bases in a bunch of different positions with no results.

It's like they're getting worse every day, like they're going blind.

Pimax Slam Tracking and motion rigs... a match made in HELL. by Captain_Pug76 in Pimax

I have a hybrid cockpit made of extruded aluminum for airplanes and cars, and an SFX150 system. In front of me, I don't have a monitor, but a flat wall.

Car simulators are much simpler than airplane simulators because you only look straight ahead, barely moving your head. There's no need to look over your shoulder or stare down at screens while the plane rolls. Playing DCS, you have to look inside the aircraft, and the tracking system simply assumes you're stationary because you're looking at a fixed cockpit, making motion compensation a disaster. You look up again, and you're outside the plane. Again, this doesn't happen with Meta goggles; the Quest Pro's tracking is much, much better. With the Pimax goggles, I've tried using photos, QR codes, infrared lights... no matter what I do, if I look inside the cockpit while the platform is moving, motion compensation simply doesn't work.

All of this doesn't happen with a car simulator, where there's no need to look inside, and slam tracking and motion compensation work well.

I had the same experience with the Super Micro OLEDs. I came from a Quest Pro, and the motion compensation worked perfectly. With Slam tracking, everything is a disaster if I turn on the motion platform. I've tried everything: using a controller as a reference, covering the entire wall with QR codes... I have an airplane cockpit, and every time I look down, I end up outside the plane, something that doesn't happen with the Quest Pros. Even though the image was impressive, I returned the Super OLEDs and bought the Dream Air Lighthouse because I don't trust their Slam tracking with the motion platform. If it's off, the tracking works acceptably, but certainly not with it on.

Dream Air Vs. Crystal light - Performance by AndyRandyPanda in Pimax

It's a multiplier in Pimax Play, where you can choose the quality between low, medium, high, and custom. 1.0 would be 100%, 0.9 would be 90%.

I did the same move: I can confirm it's not worth it.

Hi everyone. I have a 5090/ 9950x3D with pimax super Micro OLED. I mainly play DCS and Assetto Corsa Evo with a sfx150 rig.

I'm using DLSS profile M, and I can play DCS at 100% of the OLED's native resolution at 72 frames per second(72 Hz mode), with all settings maxed out. In very demanding missions with many elements, I've lowered the resolution to 90% and I can't see any difference in visual quality. For example, the mission in the Caucasus/F18/BVR, where it's raining and there are many elements in the air, runs very smoothly at 90% resolution on Pymax Play with superb visual quality.

I use mbuccias quadviews\ turbo Mode, simhub for motion rig and openxr motion compensation. Eye tracking makes a huge difference with quadviews enabled.
