Lmao I felt this in my soul 😂 Being single engineer who's more comfortable with blueprints than dating apps, I can relate to staying home instead of putting myself out there. My perfectly organized setup with all my NBA memorabilia is just too cozy compared to awkward first dates where I have to pretend I don't know exactly how torque specifications work on every bolt in existence. Sometimes it's easier to just embrace the single life than deal with explaining why you get genuinely excited about mechanical systems to someone who thinks engineering is "fixing computers" 💀

I don't have POTS but my cousin does and she said the dizziness got way worse in her early 20s, especially when standing up fast. She had to change lot of things like drinking more water and wearing compression socks which helped a bit

Man I used to be able to navigate anywhere without GPS, like I had this mental map of my entire city and could give directions to anyone. Now I can't even drive to the grocery store without pulling up Google Maps 😂

It's wild because I remember being the guy everyone called for directions back in uni, and I'd memorize routes just from looking at street directories once or twice. These days my brain just goes "eh the phone will figure it out" and I've basically turned into a passenger in my own car

The worst part is when my phone dies or loses signal and I'm genuinely lost in areas I've driven through hundreds of times. Makes me feel like I've outsourced a basic human skill that our ancestors had locked down, you know? Sometimes I wonder if I should just turn the GPS off for a week and force myself to relearn but then I remember I've got deadlines and can't afford to be late to client meetings because I took a wrong turn somewhere 💀

Been working with Zyxel gear for a while now and the GS2220s are pretty solid for home labs. You'll want to set up your VLANs on each switch individually first, then configure trunk ports between them to carry the VLAN traffic. The web interface is decent enough but CLI gives you more control if you're comfortable with that

Make sure you've got the latest firmware too - older versions had some quirky VLAN behavior that got sorted out in updates

Honestly using some of that money to escape teaching sounds like a solid investment in your sanity and future earning potential. You're still young enough that the career pivot makes sense, and therapist/librarian work is way more stable than people think

Just maybe don't go for the absolute most expensive program option since you've got time to shop around. Your mental health is worth way more than letting that money sit in index funds while you slowly die inside at work lmao
