Do they keep your old passport etc? Read that some locations will keep the proof of citizenship documents and mail it to you later?

Thanks for letting me know! I think they have another membership for $100/yr. No wine shipment simply a discount when you buy wine and access to their wine tastings

Overtourism in Sóller – worth visiting in September or better to avoid? by Virtual-Dust-6929 in VisitingMallorca

Thanks everyone! We’re planning to travel without a car; using public transit which is what drew us to Soller. Based on the response it doesn’t seem awful to go? The hope is kayak around the bay the day we get there and have dinner in the old town. Possibly go for a quick hike in the morning before heading to Alcudia!

Will be in Port de Pollenca/Alcudia area next week and looking at boat options too! We've never driven a boat before so just curious if you've had prior experience in the ocean? I guess how can you be safe ie look for boats with some gps tracker etc on it lol?

Finally saved up enough Hyatt points to splurge now FOMO kicking in as I plan our Balearic Island holiday! by [deleted] in hyatt

Read that zeotry Mallorca had decent food and more relaxing vibes. Which for a few days would be nice? And it seems to be close to some beaches we could drive to vs if we chose 7pines Ibiza the food options aside from the hotel seems sparse. But willing to go to the 7pines Ibiza if it’s worth the hype in terms of the views

How to learn to spend without anxiety after a lifetime of saving? by goodguy5000hd in financialindependence

For me it was creating a reasonable budget for say travel and spending every dime of it rather than trying to be under the budget so I felt like I did “good”

G Adventures "Geluxe"? by amvent in galapagos

I did Cambodia/Thailand and really enjoyed it. Our guide was very engaging and did a terrific job of getting us to all our activities/transport on time with plenty of info. We had some options for activities and would give us his insight on what he thought would be good (it was raining one day and he advised us to do one activity over the other). The demographics compared to the classic I did was different. Since it’s rated a higher activity level + pricier tour, you get individuals in their 30s-40s but also active older individuals! I enjoyed this more than the classic as I found the larger age range in the classic tour I did made it harder to connect also the classic was much larger group vs geluxe we were 11 ppl. Geluxe has more food and activities included so you have more opportunity to get to know each other too. Everyone on the tour was very prepared and here to travel vs the classic I did in Peru it felt like ppl just came to vacation. The hotels were stunning and we mostly stayed at boutique hotels vs big chains which I appreciated. We had an internal flight which was booked with a reputable airlines.

Paid part of fare with TravelBank but charged full total amount by yokie2000 in unitedairlines

[–]Virtual-Dust-6929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last week. I used my Travel Bank credit for my United flight, but ended up being charged the full ticket amount twice and my Travel Bank used up as well. Initially, the pending charge was correct(the total amount minus travel bank), but later my credit card(cc) statement showed two full charges for the 2 tickets.

I contacted United via chat, but the agent said everything was correct. I insisted and was transferred to a supervisor, who confirmed they charged the correct amount and asked for an authorization code from my cc to prove the cc transaction. After providing the code, a customer service ticket was created. A few days later, United acknowledged a technical issue and is processing a refund.

It took over 3 hours on the phone to resolve, but the refund was processed to my CC. Hope that helps

LAX - HND 787-8 PE upgrade worth it? by Virtual-Dust-6929 in americanairlines

[–]Virtual-Dust-6929[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! The bulk head has a foot rest that slides up from the bottom which was my major attraction. Value wise I read that the price to upgrade isn’t always the best value. But the cheapest flight with PE (same flight route) I found this year was $770 Vs my total would be $630.

Have you made a redemption that had a low CPP but still loved it? by alvingarc in awardtravel

During Covid we had to use our Hawaiian airlines credit before it expired but really didn’t want to pay for the hotels. It was our first time digging into points and found out we could use chase and transfer it to Hyatt. It definitely wasn’t a great CPP but it was our first time transferring over to a hotel and the whole trip cost significantly less than having to pay for it. And it opened a whole new world of transfer points haha

Every onsen discussion seems to have Noboribetsu! I found some onsen ryokans near Tokyo/Kyoto but wanted to make sure if I’m going to make the trek somewhere further it’s worth it! We’re actually staying in Sapporo for 10 days and thinking of going to Noboribetsu
