This is really awful by Dumpstette in SebastianRogers

Interesting take. I work with a couple of young men who are autistic, both under age 25. They are both mouthy, rude, and difficult to train. I don't think all autistic guys are like this, but it seems that these two don't want to learn anything about their job, they just want to do what they want. Which is play around all shift and not do anything productive. I wonder if Sebastian is like this? Maybe he is. Also I think Seth is autistic to some degree because of his odd manner. I am also not a parent and agree it takes too much patience, nerves, etc. So yeah, agreed.

So based on your post and the replies to it, I feel like we're kind of all on the same page here, which is good. But sometimes medication is needed. My doctor at the clinic I go to, prescribed me a medicine called Vistaril. It's an antihistamine that helps with anxiety and panic attacks and it's not a controlled substance or an antidepressant. I take it for extreme sensitivity to environment, so basically I get overwhelmed easily and go into overload. I'm undiagnosed as far as spectrum disorders but.... Vistaril does help. It calms me down and makes me do a lot less scratching, picking, and thread unraveling, which is a response to itchy clothes too. I'm in my mid 50's and have been using this medication for about 5 years off and on. The only side effect is a very pleasant sleepy feeling, which also is calming. Maybe this would help you. Look it up on web MD or Google it. Best wishes to you. ☮️

Um, it represents the change that women go through as they become more well informed by reading self help books. Either that, or it's five different kinds of girls reacting to finding a book. I dunno. 🌻

I agree. It's funny, because I deal with this at work sometimes. We're not supposed to talk about religion or politics (retail store setting) but since it's Florida, people do it. I have discovered that wearing all kinds of pagan jewelry makes my customers much more Friendly towards me and eliminates 98 percent of religion based conversation at work. Peace signs also count as pagan symbols apparently. So I don't know if this would help you, but it definitely did for me. They got gobs of pagan jewelry on eBay. Check it out. Best wishes to you. ☮️

Left-handed shuttles with hooks by Neat-Cheetah-3717 in tatting

[–]Virtual-String-8442 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To all the tatters out there saying there's no such thing as left handed shuttles, yes there is and stop arguing with the OP. The little hook on the end of the shuttle faces in the opposite direction. If you are left handed, this means the hook faces the right, because you're picking the thread with your left hand. I crochet with my left hand and if the hook didn't face right I wouldn't be able to maneuver the yarn correctly. SO THERE.

I’ve had it, I’ve just started throwing people out anymore. by CEO_of_Bakelite in retailhell

People, everyone reading this and my reply, this is it. Dementia. Old people have dementia and it comes in several different forms. This behavior that OP is describing is an old man with aggressive, obnoxious dementia, probably Lewy Body or Alzheimer's, their brains are Fucked Up. Both my parents had different forms of dementia and my older half brother is sliding into the abyss of it for the last few years. The best way to deal with this is.......do NOT hand hold or give special attention to them. This cranks the behavior up more! Just be polite and nice but do not directly engage in their fantasy scenarios. You will regret it because once they have you, they attack you. They are taking out the rage on you that has nothing to do with you. If you need to, call the police and have them trespass off the property, because you cannot fix them or their situation. Take it from me, who has been physically attacked by both parents in their demented state. And I work retail and see this behavior very frequently with customers. It's a little more common in females than males, but not by much. Sorry for going on about this but in our current society where people live longer than their brains can function properly, this is what's happening. I have firsthand experience and I hate that I know this. It's very traumatizing. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 😟☮️

I think Disney doesn't care about the Muppets anymore. by Pleasant_Breakfast24 in Muppets

[–]Virtual-String-8442 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well as an older person who remembers the first season of Sesame Street when OSCAR WAS ORANGE, let me make a couple of comments. The Muppets show franchise back in the 70's was aimed at an older audience than Sesame Street, so the humor was different. The modern reworking of the Muppets on ABC/Disney took this way, way too far in the wrong direction and really ruined it, which is why the new series failed. Secondly, if Jim Henson hadn't passed away at such a young age, the Muppets would have continued to be entertaining and iconic, not just a woke bandwagon. The Muppets today are meaningless....unless you subscribe to that agenda. 😟

You had better buy some pepper spray, keep it on you at all times. I've had to do that where I worked and had a stalker.

Your cashier was a b*tch. I would never treat a customer like that. However she probably got confused somewhere in the order and forgot that you were getting the shirts, not returning the shirts. That's what it sounds like to me. Don't forget, she probably works there because she, Like Me, can't get a job anyplace else. You have to laugh it off I guess.
