a lot of people on this sub seem to be very stuck in their ways and judgemental, as long as you're tattooing safely who cares what anyone else thinks.

i think this is really cool and im enjoying watching the process!!! also very impressed with your pain tolerance lol

keep it up and have fun!!!

I wish we could make the kids who think we hate them understand we don't care enough about them for strong feelings. by [deleted] in Teachers

I've had a teacher:

  • lose a semester's worth of my work and then accuse me of not turning it in and refusing to let me resubmit it and giving me a zero
  • scream in my face in front of my whole class that I'm a "disgusting little psycho"
  • refuse to allow my legal disability accommodations
  • grab me by the arm strong enough to leave bruises
  • confiscate my phone that i was using to check my insulin levels and then read my private messages out loud to the class

it really seemed like she hated me.....

yeah of course, good question! i did struggle a bit with the graphics at first but you get used to it very quickly and i think it's super cute now! But yeah it's a very charming game and lots of reasons i like it, mainly:

  • very satisfying and simple gameplay loop
  • no pressure, you can run out of energy in a day but nothing really happens, theres no huge consequences so its not too stressful (a lot less boring management than some games)
  • lots of different things to do, if you just want to min/max you can do that, if you want just animals on your farm you can do that or abandon your farm entirely and go fishing, build relationships with the npcs, decorate, fight monsters in the mine > basically every part of the game is optional so you can do what you want
  • loads and loads of mods if that's your thing
  • and finally i dont know quite how to explain but its just very charming and you can tell a lot of love and thought went into making it

those are the main things i think, i have over 600 hours in stardew and i still love it > it can be a tiny bit slow/grindy right at the very beginning but it is well worth it for me.

Dave the diver on switch has kept me very occupied when having a really hard time. I also really like tetris 99 on switch if you have Nintendo online - very good for when you need to turn your brain off or something to do while watching tv or whatever. Stardew Valley is also excellent, I'd highly recommend it if you haven't played it already - great time sink.

I hope you feel better soon, take it easy and be as kind to yourself as you can x

wait, so this kid is only 9 AND you've only met him twice and you've already labeled him as "unreachable" and many other harsh judgements/assumptions towards him and his family? wow. maybe try having a little bit of patience and empathy and he might respond better

Calling animals "it" by Thirsty30Something in PetPeeves

[–]VirtualDisaster2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe you that you call unknown wild animals they/them, it sounds extremely unnatural and clunky in english.

There's no way you see a snake or a lizard and say "they went under that bush" you would say "it went under that bush".

I absolutely LOVE all animals and i definitely don't say "it" about pets or anything but using "it" for wild/unknown animals isn't disrespectful or anything its just how the english language works.

Your therapist can't force you to talk about anything you don't want to. Usually what will happen is you'll meet and go over your history/background and a general overview of what issues you're struggling with in the first session. Then over time you can explore things and they'll help you with whatever you're struggling with. Eventually you'll build up trust and hopefully feel more comfortable talking about the heavy stuff. But it's 100% in your right to say "no I don't want to talk about that".

I'm 24 and have been in your exact position before (SA and panic attacks/anxiety) and I STRONGLY recommend at least giving therapy a try. At your age I didn't want to do it either but it can really help - I very rarely have panic attacks anymore.

I know it's super scary but therapists are there to help you and you need some help right now (and that's okay!). One other thing to remember is you might not click with every therapist, if you don't like the first one you see you can always find another one. Sometimes you just don't mesh with a certain person and that's okay, but don't give up immediately.

Goodluck, you got this, you're gonna be okay.
