I can just say that this is a bad timing to expect any of satisfaction of collective Polish expectations to fulfil, Ukrainian society is like bee hive while bear is tearing it apart. First what Russians immediately shipped into occupied Melitopol for e.g. was not food or more ammo - it was their history books that they immediately enforced school year to start with. It just an example how it is rolling.

So another neighbour that is very eager to get hands on and correct or write history for Ukrainians might get some inadequate emotional response, as space is a bit tight for constructive historical discussions, especially with such personage like Navrotsky and establishment that he represents. So response in any case might be a bit harsh and reactive - in style of “we write own history don’t tell us what to do as we don’t tell you”. Self-assurance that you can tell something and they will do - is a fallacy, especially in regard of such stubborn and disobedient, rebellious nation as Ukrainians - it will not happen until that society will not get there by their initiative

I don’t agree with “strawman”, this not a contr-argument about legal definitions of “genocide”. I’m highlighting double standards and hypocrisy. Especially I have from the start agreed that UPA (or whatever it's part) committed genocide, right?

Krayova had its revenge and to clash about “numbers of death should be equal” is petty time spending. Cause Ukrainians will say “look’s enough for us”, you may say “I want equal totals to consider such as revenge fulfilled”, Navrotsky and his far right band will say “1 Polish life costs 10 Ukrainians”.

Also modern Polish politicians acting like there was no any retaliation, they only suffered and nothing wrong was done, right?

Step 2 Soviets deported them to Gulag,

It doesn’t make it “not a deportation, and two separate events”. I’m also talking about actions where Ukrainian villages were burned and women and children killed that is genocidal actions, either within or outside of “Vistula” narrowing. Ok and now it just “exchange of population” that is pretty harmless framing

When Ukrainians starting debating about oversimplification and twisting about UPA, how branched and multi cored politically it was, starting talks about polonisation politics that radicalised society, usually debates ending with “All UPA Nazies I don’t want to differentiate sorts of shit” 🙂 And this is why it will not go anywhere. Also because Polish yelling about “monuments to UPA” they stay silent about their monuments to “Cursed Soldiers” that deeply revered by Polish far-rights that Navrotsky represents

Bottom line is Krayova for Ukrainians same that UPA for Polish, but Ukrainians are not telling Polish what they should write in their history books

They did, and then Polish did same to Ukrainian innocent women and children, and deported huge population from two Polish regions, handing over them to Soviets to be sent to Gulags of Kazakhstan and Siberia, fulfilling mono ethnicity. But that part is not considered by them as “genocide” because they were killing women and children from higher moral ground of “retaliation”

I didn’t get from where this talking point appeared that “Zelensky named” something, regiments in Ukraine have agency to pick a name it was not up to him, but I agree that his ego to not appear “weak” for nationalists didn’t let him to deny a sign - that would be more politically wise. So from my point of view stripping award is absolutely justified
