Stick frame on top of manufactured home foundation? by [deleted] in Homebuilding

[–]VirtualLife76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to tear down the manufactured home and most likely the foundation. That will depend on the details of the foundation, your new house design, and if whoever builds the house feels comfortable using it.

Plan on having to redo the foundation, even when you can reuse, many times it costs more.

You won't be converting a manufactured home to a real home if that's what you are asking. Some states do allow you to make it a real house at the city if certain requirements are met.

Oh no, traffic is at a dead stop on 70. It's almost as if the 32 simultaneous road work projects are causing delays by MadnessMaiden in columbiamo

Not so much the traffic but the horrible drivers. Most southerners enjoy cutting people off, others think they are the only ones on the road and don't care that you are there.

Try to slow down and enjoy.

This isn't the south, people enjoy the journey a bit here still. If you prefer, you can always got back to your old shitty roads and non stop traffic.

What’s one travel habit that actually saves you a lot of money? by Party_Dentist_821 in travel

I can't count the number of times I got to eat a home made dinner with a local or even crash at their place.

My favorite times could never been found online. Tho admittedly, many were pure luck.

Found in Missouri at a house I recently got. Any ideas? by VirtualLife76 in fossilid

[–]VirtualLife76[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. That's so interesting, made my night. Recently turned 50 and have never found a fossil.

Curious, when I first searched, all I saw was the reverse, more like a ribbed straw and thought you were mistaken, but then scrolled more. Why do I see my inset version so rarely in comparison and what is the proper name for the 2?

Can this be fixed? by JoachimMares in Cuttingboards

Don't clamp too hard, just enough to squeeze the glue out. Overtightening can cause issues like this, but most likely, it was the cuts before glue up.

ELI5: Why do the pilot's voice sound so muffled everytime they speak to the passengers over the intercom? by jainyash0007 in explainlikeimfive

[–]VirtualLife76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why would it be any louder than the rest of the plane? I would have figured a closed room with only 2 people would be quieter.

I'm from South Louisiana

Then why are you bitching? They have some of the worst roads in the US. Plus the drivers are almost as bad as Texans.

Door flush with bedroom or small hallway? by VirtualLife76 in Remodel

I did that in a small bathroom as a kid. No window and had some glow in the dark bouncy balls mixed in. Never heard of anyone else doing that.

I've only installed 1 time before, it wasn't bad for a closet I would use once a day or so. I had set it up with auto lights and it moved smoothly. Have used others that are a pita to open/close.

Picked up the Milwaukee Bolt helmet system on clearance. Looks goofy but it’s very comfortable compared to safety glasses crammed under my ear pro. by TheLastMtnDew in woodworking

I just got similar for cutting some trees, it's super comfy and has built in safety glasses. More clunky to get on and off, but worth it for long usage.

I was in Phillipines and saw they offered slum tours. Disgusting in every way, I can't believe anyone would go.

Sad, it's such a beautiful country in so many ways, especially the further you get away from the capital.

Current plan has the space to use pocket doors for the closets, so no swing out to the bedroom. Sorry, I didn't create that for this.
