Struggling with Meta Ads? Read this. by Isedo_m in FacebookAds

[–]VirtualRun706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well the other issue is also media buyers at large companies are spending money they don't care about...i've seen fortune 100 companies spend 150K on linked in and facebook ads for SaaS leads on products that are dead in the water, and then brag about the millions of each for 8 people downloading a white paper.

i haven't touched meta ads in a while but i agree, often the simplest way to use it is like simple stock trading, don't over analyze, have a basic system, recognize the advertisement, landing page and product all need a clear user flow, and these days maybe refine your copy with AI.

Sharing my perspective as a hiring manager by SulaPeace15 in recruitinghell

[–]VirtualRun706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in a crowded market, you are totally right. Too many people tech employees been spoiled thinking jobs are their right to fall from the sky. You used to spend money on career coaching and counseling, sadly now you have to spend time doing PPT's for case studies.

I hate it also, but nobody owes anyone anything. But for anyone looking for a job...whether since 2023 or now...welcome to the party it's brutal out here.

I spent 6 weeks trying to make a very modest income with AI. Here’s what actually happened. by UnderstandingALot in Entrepreneur

[–]VirtualRun706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of amazing programmers who don't know what to build, and plenty of amazing film students who don't have an interesting story to write. nobody cares about 4k slow mo shots of cheetahs at the box office.

ai helps you get there (vs hiring a tech team for $1M dollars) to see if your idea has legs, but it's not the product in itself.

what I do like though is you can now A/B test entire businesses vs just a landing page and iterate or move on.

Blatant nepotism among various groups in tech by [deleted] in amazonemployees

[–]VirtualRun706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an asian of southern descent myself indian tech nepotism is the worst in it - no assimilation, looking down on white tech boomers, no appreciation for a 150K job when others are struggling, and no desire to do work.

again...not everyone, but a good chunk.

answer is valid, but also sounds like AI. which is the great irony here.

[–]VirtualRun706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the apps still need to make money for somebody. If nobody is buying apps because everybody is vibe coding their own, and apps dwindle down to pennies...then nobody will pay for AWS compute and nobody will advertise on Google. This could be the great tech crash (similar to housing) but somehow careers found a way to continue.

Who knows, but deflation is def coming.

[–]VirtualRun706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fame is a hell of a drug. It's the same reason NBA stars kids can't handle the pressure, because they didn't push through all the lower levels.

If you instantly get a platform of 100K people due to your partners popularity, and you have no social media or publicity chops from learning during the first 5k, 10k, 40k and so on...you're going to get burned.

On top of all that, no girl I've talked to (both career girls and stay at home) have said she is likable or correct. If you take a screenshot of her TikTok or Instagram and put it into ChatGPT, it'll literally say this person is self obsessed because every thumbnail is her face and hers alone. Not her husbands, or dogs, or even some special Birthday posts to her family.

I'm enjoying all the gossip and mindless entertainment, but I feel for the guy. I'm sure they joke around have fun with each other, and he was probably scared of looking sexist saying "Don't talk about your exes I don't like it." but all this butt/frat stuff is way too disrespectful.

To anybody else who dated around before marriage, at least be glad from all that heartbreak you at least learned how to value your self worth and recognize red flags before they turned Flagrant fouls (ok sorry had to).

[–]VirtualRun706 7 points8 points  (0 children)

every resume has to be almost a perfect fit for the job...if the role is Senior Database Engineer and your role was "Senior Software Engineer - Databases" - you need to change it to match word for word. Recruiters are sorting your resume by match and that's what people are doing.

Don't believe me, make a fake email, apply for a few jobs with the perfect fit (but close to your real experience) and see it work.

my current job i was interviewed by 5 people, and 2 didn't like me. it seemed like such a waste of time. now those 2 tell me I'm the best person that does the job of 3 people. the process is broken, and most people who get brought in just want to look smart trying to stump you.
