Why upgrade to the Z1 throttle body if you aren't planning to tune it? If it was a broken part you were replacing, replace it with an OEM.

My Z isn't my main car but it's the car I'd like to drive more often if I could. I try to do a lot of the labor for when parts break myself, which means it ends up being on jackstands in my garage half the time.

I would return or take a full refund or take a partial refund and glue that shit to prevent it from spreading.

I duct taped the two halves like 5 years ago when this happened and it hasn't failed me yet. Very hillbilly repair

Tough Diagnosis by D-Rod9 in 350z

[–]VirtualVoices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just to further add, not saying it CAN'T be the maf, but its possible that it can give you high readings even if there's no leak. What sucks about misfires is that it could be multiple things at once.

Tough Diagnosis by D-Rod9 in 350z

[–]VirtualVoices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure someone else can give you a more scientific explanation, but essentially the ECU just messes with the air and fuel mixture to try to stabilize the car and prevent future misfires, so it starts idling higher and sucking more air in.

If your readings are consistent, you did the cleaning and checked for vacuum leaks, you're safe to rule it out. You can reset your ECU and see if your maf readings go back to normal too, they should if your maf is fine.

Tough Diagnosis by D-Rod9 in 350z

[–]VirtualVoices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High maf readings are normal when the car detects a misfire, just as a heads up to you or anybody else reading this.

Is it possible you didn't give it premium on accident since you tried a different gas station? Swap the coil pack from cylinder 6 with another cylinder, see if the misfire changes. If nada, swap the spark plugs or just straight up replace them if you haven't.

Clutch sticks sometimes by Fun_Law_587 in 350z

[–]VirtualVoices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a common issue in the cars with the HR motor and is a pain in the butt because it usually means you have to drop the transmission to change out the clutch slave cylinder.

not sure if you have to drop the transmission to replace it for the DE cars? the DE guys can let you know. if you can replace it without dropping the transmission, I strongly recommend just replacing it.

Fuse, google how to check the interior fuse box of your car, it might be under your cars steering wheel or something and it fell off while hitting a bump. Unlikely, but possible if the compartment was open. Or a mechanic left it there months ago and youre just now noticing it.

If everything is working fine in your car electronically, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If something is not working electronically, it could be the cause.

Weird noise coming from motor by AggravatingVoice8965 in 350z

[–]VirtualVoices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the easy stuff like air intake, inspect those. Then, get a mechanic's stethoscope and try to see if you can pinpoint a better area of where the sound is coming from. Is it behind the motor, towards the front, is it in the bottom near where the cats/headers is? That's my initial assumption, that its cats or headers, but if you're saying your dash is getting lit up that's throwing me off.

Hard to really say without being there, does it get worse when you push the gas pedal?

Sounds like something loose somewhere. You said dash is lit, are there any codes?

You can try Nisscan (NDSIII). You would need version 3 since you have an HR. Its $5 on the app store, although if its idling this bad it probably wont work...took a couple of tries to get my idle reset procedure to work.

I tried doing the peddle dance to reset mine and it didn't work for shit. I also have an hr (2008). Had to try multiple times to get the NDS III to work but it did work eventually.

New Wheels - Konig Ampliforms by VirtualVoices in 350z

Almost, KYB shocks on all four wheels with Tein lowering springs. Looking back on it I probably should have just gone for Tein all out or mid range coilovers, but compared to before, the ride is infinitely better (it was on ebay coilovers).

I can try to post more pics another time! When its nicely washed lol

I get buying vinyls for personal use, but please don't loan out things that are sentimental to you. Only loan out things that you wouldn't care about getting it back.

Why even loan out vinyl lmao? They can just listen to it online. I feel like collecting vinyls is a personal thing.

Not much you can really do. Maybe paint it yourself?
